Title. Like what are it's abilities I've never really known what it does. I know it's a stringer version Byakugan just like sharingan and rinnegan and that's about it

But going along with parallels, tenseigan does not give you eye techs (spiritual) but rather with body (physical).
That's why we see Toneri using more TSB techs like Naruto instead of using his tenseigan.

Most would argue it is solely that he never had doujutsu before and is the first time he has so he wouldn't even know what to do with it.

But we know that that seems unlikely.
