Has oro truly changed?

What made orochimaru really decide to "watch sasuke wind" or whatever tf he said..
He was pretty damn evil and greedy beforehand.
Killed maaaany people and worse (torture\ experimentation)

He wasnt tnj'd by naruto or anything and changed sides\his mind for no real interest besides "curiosity"

Is he waiting for a weaker uchiha (sarada maybe?) To obtain the sharingan? Is he still obsessed with sasuke\sasukes sharingan?

I just need to know or at least have someone shoot ideas to make me feel less confused\ upset about it. One of those plot things that bothers me most as far as the whys and by nots go

Oro was just going through a midlife crisis with the konoha invasion and killing his sensei stuff. He got over it no hard feelings

Seeing godlike beings battle finally put him back in his place that there simply is no way that he could ever achieve that level.

don't think we'll ever know, i guess u can assume he's a good person now since kishi is done with him and he seems chill with mitsuki.
regardless, behind naru/sasuke and tied with kabuto, hes by far one of the strongest, and has the potential to live a very long time which will be a threat to anyone if he chooses to be a villain after naru/sasuke are dead

If he's such a genius why didnt he take narutos body and then sasuke?
With the immortal body transfer thing he can do I feel he could train himself to be a jin through stealing jin bodies.. Maybe. Prolly not but it sounds good.

He's to complexed of a character to know what's going on inside of his head, especially being that his moral compass seems to only work when it's in his benefit.

stuff like that. His morality is not black but rather grey due to whatever comes along that will urge him to experiment.

He probably didn't change as much as he settled down because he got at least part of his wishes fulfilled.

Oro is the most successful villain in the series. Of course some of his ambitions and attempts to achieve them were met with failures. But he succeeded in some others- he got his immortality. He got his hands on the most advanced and varied technologies and knowledge about jutsus. In Zetsus he got anough material to not need new bodies from some one else and create one for himself down to the specifications as needed. He had already taken revenge from Konoha for rejecting him. He is alive and living the way he wants even if Konoha keeps an eye on him. He would have more people stalking him if he was a celebrity in a modern real world. This way he doesn't need to run from one hide out to another anymore and live more freely. He even designed and created a son for himself- a hell lot of people want to do that for Sasuke. and so on.. He has his own loyal followers who admire him and still with him.

Frankly I think he fared almost as well as the main trio. Maybe better. Because those three made more compromises and only partly achieved their goals too. ( as written in the main manga and completely ignoring the retcons provided by movies or anime verse)

Nope. Not even a fanboy of this character remotely but if he wanted it there's very little standing in Orochimaru's way of the long-game win.

Maybe he chaged after he found out he could not have everything that he wanted including sasukes sharingan. He found a soul that was darker than him. Just saying.
