There are a lot of great musicians out there that don't get the same attention nor representation. Just because you didn't hear them doesn't mean they don't exist.

I mean it depends what you mean. Like the person above mentioned, the most popular music of virtually any generation has always been about the exact same concepts (love/broken-heart/drugs/etc). If you mean the popular genre of songs today, then yes I agree it is absolutely cancerous. I like can find music that I like from virtually any genre, but the shit they play today I just don't understand how anyone can actually listen to it.

if you feel that way you're stupid. Music back then was worse since A&R's decided what you even got a chance to listen to. There's no middleman anymore. The only one to blame for your poor music choice is yourself.

Raunchy songs have been out since the dawn of time its just that the air waves and record companies aren't owned by the same three people anymore (Well most still are)that grew up in a more modest time period dictated by "Wholesome Christian values"
