that's very true. but I think of most manga/anime, Death Note is one of the few you can easily pull off well

People are actually complaining about whitewashing on this? Its meant to be an american adapted version of an originally japanese story, so I think its a bit silly to complain about whitewashing. Its like complaining that weird Japanese spider man showfrom the seventies doesn't have enough white people.

They should have went with an episodic series instead of making a movie. I think Death Note has way too many major plot points for the entire story to be compiled down to a 1 to 2 hour movie without screwing with the source material or cutting some things out.

If I were to have a live action adaptation I would want americans over japanese, but these actors just look awful lol Ryuuk is the only one thats going to be good imo. L looks like an absolute piece of garbage and Light looks like he's just coming off of Disney channel.


And yes making L black for the culture was dumb.

Holy shit the green goblin voicing Ryuk was 10/10. Also L looks badass and it looks like they'll try to change up misa's character so she isn't just comedic relief
