Actually, I think she is one nice kunoichi, in the real sense of the word. She is stealthy, and knows how to use her abilities to allow her team to defeat one Kage level shinobi (Danzou). She deserved to be put as a memorable Uzumaki clan member just as Kushina and Mito are.

No duh. She is literally a civilian-type character thrown into a situations far too grand for her. The cause for her relevance (a term which I use loosely) to anything that goes on in the series is literally only because of being in Team 7. She's as out of place on Team 7 as someone like Tenten if she were to be put in Sakura's place, and nothing makes this more obvious than the shoehorned ways she's made to be "relevant" whereas Sasuke, Naruto, and Kakashi's relevance comes naturally. Maybe of she was a Senju, things could have been different with her, but even then, she'd need her own story outside of chasing Sasuke.

And there is more to it because she was supposed to be a role model to a lot of real life girls who were growing up. But she proved time after time to be a crying baby with absolutely no self respect, even as an adult. Who breaks her own house down? Because she still has doubts about her "'relationship"" with Sasuke? Who protects a person who tried to kill her without even trying to lecture him?
Yeah, she got training from a Sannin, but how does she shows off that skills? Being a single a mother and a housewife for someone who doesn't even recognize their daughter?
Even '90's animes were better.....
