Yeah, Madara isn't a good example. Kabuto purposefully modified his body so that he would be back at his prime state. Look at Nagato who was revived with crippled legs.

An ordinary edo tensei won't be able to do that but Kabuto has shown that a person can be brought back to life in a state other than the person died in.
