S rank shinobis

What's the requirement for becoming a S rank shinobi? Because I'm surprised that someone like Zetsu is considered S rank when the only jutsus he has is....

Spore Technique
Substitute Technique
Parasite clones
Chakra absorption
wood human

and controlling objects/people with his black side. That's really weak.
And do these people also count as S-rank shinobis too?

Hebi Sasuke was considered S Rank
Sage Mode Naruto was considered S Rank
All Akatsuki members barring Obito/Pain were all S Rank

S Rank is like what a future Kage is chosen from I suppose. So one step from Kage level I'd assume

You also forgot Zabuza's water cage and Hidden Mist Jutsu. Bit most importantly he was one of the 7 swordsmen of the mist. So that title alone suggests they are all S Rank of varying degrees.

Sm Naruto too also surpassed Jiraiya and he is utilizing frog senjutsu to its maximum proficiency. Like 5 toad summonings each one being able to take on a wild beast? That's no joke.

Sure I agree but he was also special even amongst the Uchiha. And as I said S Rank is where future Kage are chosen, so it shouldn't be surprising that an S Rank can and do beat Kage level opponents. The gap between Kage and S Rank isn't very big albeit there are special cases like Sasuke, Itachi, Naruto, 3rd Raikage, Hashirama, Madara, etc

I mean it's still not strong enough to be S-rank or Kage level for that matter. Being able to move everywhere and gather information doesn't physically harm you in a one on one battle. And zetsu spores are as affective as that genin fodder Sasuke fought in the chuunin exams.

This is true. He may not be a great fighter but fighting skills alone shouldn't be the sole determining factor in what makes an S Rank Shinobi.

In the field of stealth and Intel gathering people like Zetsu and Muu are S Rank in their own right. And yes I know Muu is a Kage lol

Then why was Zetsu labeled as S-rank?
And kakashi was very capable for Hokage level since the first time they introduced him. Remember that he was a Jonin at age 13. He's arguably stronger than Hiruzen and Tsunade.

You must really have no idea how important intel really is then. Everything isn't simply about who has the biggest muscles.

Zetsu was irreplaceable in the akatsuki, a Deidara, Hidan, Kisame can be replaced with other strong shinobi, but to find someone as dangerously unique as Zetsu is not easy. Zetsu allowed the akatsuki to monitor the world around them with extreme ease, that is S rank deserving and then some.
