Was watching the war arc again recently and noticed he mastered ability to erase ninjutsu entirely, the feat seems like nothing at first but when you think about it he ultimately destroyed chakra from a long range and in one single hit

He mastered the ability to destroy chakra and all that was left for him was for him to master the scale of jutsu he can use juken on. If he didn't die early its highly likely he would've achieved Kage tier and possibly surpass it like Kaguya's other descendants.

He was expected to surpass the Hyuga clan entirely, as we've seen Hiashi was able to repel Juubi tail without a chakra cloak, the tail is arguably stronger than a bijuu tail which is the equivalent of a v3 Susanoo blade (at the very least).

Surpassing Hiashi and possessing feats no other Hyuga were known to have would've allowed Neji to reach a level close to Naruto and Sasuke overtime. He was basically one chakra boost away from being as strong as them, Boruto's potential is most likely the same potential he possessed.

This is why Naruto Shitpooden is horseshit. Too much wasted potential :sdo:

He shouldn't have died. The only character with Byakugan who had potential to show its true power. Hinata was designed to be weak and Neji not only was a genious but also was from new generation, which means more panel time compared to Hiashi or others.

@Bold- I think that's the reason author killed him off, it was too late to display the Hyuga's potential because manga was reaching an end but the next gen arc is focusing on Hyuga.

Neji most likely died because Kishi thought it would be best to show his potential using Boruto, it would explain why Boruto's name is a pun on his uncle's name. :yeah:

He dumps on Hinata tbh, he should've inherited Humura's chakra instead.

I think he wrote what he meant in the wrong way.
Screw and Bolt. Both spin.
