a question about transgender suicide rates

It doesn't even matter whether they transition or not. The suicide rate is still this inceredibly high. Not even jews living under Hitler killed themselves at such high rates. It's something humanity has never seen before.

It's clearly a sign of mental illness and not people being mean. Of course there are trans people living a happy life but the amount of suicides in the trans community is alarming and shouldn't be overlooked. We should take a closer look at it instead of claiming that everything is fine.

Since they are trapped in that mental state, most of the them go into prostitution as they think it's the only way to survive without loosing humility and this trend is growing rapidly in southeast-asian countries.

And at present, the only way we can help the transgender community is by administering a new gene therapy & that itself hasn't advanced much, so they are stuck with the hormone therapy. Having chromosomes that are atypical for your gender isn’t actually a problem. Only God knows what's causing the malformation.

Which is why i came to the conclusion of forsaking natural selection & embracing a new line of shift, which is germline engineering; genetically corrected to prevent many disease and disorders - Of Course with a governed medical board, otherwise it could be also taken in a negative way. One of the minor cons of it but only through moving forward can solve these kind of problems.

It's truly not this simple. For one thing, it can be argued that there is a larger community against transgendered people than there is black people, so the discrimination faced by the former could play a larger role in determining their suicide rates than it does for black people.

Black people also don't live in an era where their status as members of society are constantly challenged. While racism still exists, it's no longer at a level where government-based laws and rulings directly infringe on their status as people as other people outside of their group are, which probably disappoints you. Transgendered people on the other hand continue to face that, which could again cause discrimination to play a bigger role for them than it does black people.

Out of curiosity, have you ever read statistics for suicidal rates among blacks during early 20th century? I couldn't find any data for that, and honestly there probably isn't much if any from that time period. If discrimination was a primary factor for depression and suicide that would mean whites (who have a much higher suicide rates; 15.1% as opposed to 5.6% with blacks, and 5.8% with Hispanics) are the ones more likely to experience discrimination. It's probably less to do with discrimination and more to do with genetics and culture (especially spiritual beliefs).

As far as transgendered goes, depression rates are high with any identity issues (the ultimate existential crisis). There are also high instances of past trauma, personalities disorders, and substance abuse which always carries an increased suicide risk factor. To complicate it more, "adults who identify as transgender are less likely to be white and more likely to be racial and ethnic minorities when compared to the U.S. general population" (Flores, et al, 2016). So that does not correlate with suicide rates of minorities in the general population. This could mean that transgendered people identify less with their race as much as their sexual identity demographic (which I have seen in my practice). It is most likely a complex combination of mental illness and discrimination.

Did you read my posts? The ones where I said discrimination might play A factor, and not that it was THE factor? Did you read that?
