He's not afraid. He simply knows how dangerous the mangekyou sharingan is. Can you really blame him? Mangekyou takes an Uchiha from average to at least kage level in the blink of an eye.

I think Naruto was trying to protect the children in the Gaiden, which is why he wasn't going to take any chances because he knows how dangerous Mangekyo Sharingan abilities are.

One mistake, or taking the enemy lightly, could of resulted in Sarada/Chou-Chou getting hurt. Or worse.

One mistake, or taking the enemy lightly, could of resulted in Sarada/Chou-Chou getting hurt. Or worse.

But he has rikudou chakra, there's really no need to use kurama or even sage mode tbh lol but yeah I agree I suppose since RSM is the only protective shield he has for his allies besides the red cloak.

Indra's Mangekyo and Ashura's Power were equivalent and Naruto needs Kurama's latent power in order to resonate with Ashura's power, so I suppose you could argue that the Mangekyo is inherently better than Naruto w/o Kurama's power.

Sure, Blind MS Sasuke wouldn't have done any good against SM Naruto, that much is obvious.

True. I mean despite the fact that MS are quite fodder class to Naruto (and Sasuke respectfully), the MS abilities are so random that anything could happen.

Imagine if for instance his eyes could stop the person looking at them, just an example of the hack's they have :lol

MS is not something to be taken lightly. Naruto and the rest of the shinobi world are quite lucky that the Uchiha clan is nearly extinct.

There's a lot of things Naruto can't do without the Nine-tails. He's built himself up on it's power so there's a lot of things he wouldn't be able to do without it. No matter how liked Naruto is, anyone can agree that relying on something too often will make you a one trick pony.
