Not sure which fans you're talking about, but I've been pro-Byakugan since the beginning and was actually rooting for Naruto to marry the dime of NV, which is the Byakugan Princess, Hinata.

And Momoshiki's byakugan was introduced after the main manga ended. So how is that an ass pull? Sharingan was all about copying techniques and precog before MS was introduced. I think it was introduced during Zabuza fight by Kakashi and he was known as the copy ninja Kakshi...

A Byakugan is a Byakugan no matter who has it. A base Byakugan isn't gonna have a power like that out of nowhere that's probably not even a Byakugan ability.

Sharingan was precog copying and genjutsu and Kakashi even said that wasn't the true Uchiha ability so nah it wasn't an asspull.

The proof is in the manga no one would say Uchiha = strongest clan in Konoha if Byakugan and Hyuga were superior.

I don't think it's even a time freeze, I think it has something to do with SO6P chakra and boruto somehow was connected to the spirit realm . It makes absolute no sense if the Byakugan did the job...

Then maybe there is more to the byakugan than what the hyuga's knew and its only coming to light after the arrival of Otsutsukis like Momo and Kaguya. And just cuz Sharingan has different levels like 2t,3t,MS and beyond, the byakugan has to be the same and follow the same powering up mechanism.
So what is the true uchiha ability? Mind sharing a scan of what he meant?

Senjus were the strongest clan in Konoha. Fodders say all kind of things about the strong. Even the hyugas claimed to be the strongest and were quite respected for their strength by the same fodders as well. Doesn't prove a thing about what you've been claiming.
Well I am also not sure whether it was a byakugan ability but I won't be surprised if it was.
