Nice fanfics.... using a small portion of teh beasts chatra reserves which were already milked during teh war is not teh same as having a sentient beast living inside of a person.....tobidara already stated tat teh beasts are much weaker when in a mindless state and kurama was shown to be able to neutralize 5 beasts on his own....teh only reason chuchumaki could equal sasuke at vote 2 was because he had a very useful partner! naruto was just teh cheerleader for kurama....BTW GET IGNORELISTED!!!!!!!

Pull ahead means that you're at an equal footing but once you pull ahead you are no longer equals.

By fact, Naruto and Sasuke are equal there is no doubt, however Sasuke still hasn't used all of the paths of the Rinnegan against Naruto so I really don't know if we can call them equal but there will always be plot-holes. Stop arguing.

There is nothing to interpret. If they both acknowledged they are rivals then sasuke follow up with surpass it suggest they are equal or comparable to one another, not inferior. it's like that madara v hashi. they were rivals but hashirama eventually surpassed him therefore no longer rivals.

tl:dr

rivals don't start from inferior to equal(or skip) to end with superiority. it starts at equal and end at superior
