Marvel is > in terms of success and not by a close margin either. It has been the more dominant one over the millennium and looks to continue that especially with Logan and Guardians Vol. 2 around the corner while DC's cinema have been an extreme disappointment

Yup, Joker is the most iconic and the top 5 villains would most likely be DC villains. Even with how good the MARVEL movies everyone nuts over when you look at the villain it's like ... well trash. I get the main attractions are the heroes but when you focus on different parts of the movie you be like "this villain was trash lol"

Yeah the villains are very forgettable, Loki being the only somewhat decent. I legit can't name you any marvel movie villain except Loki and Ultron. Another problem is they've gotten so formulatic it feels like I'm watching the same movie with different characters.

And playing off the films is silly considering that many of the followers from either side consider the films the pinnacle of their works every year or so when a new one or a few ones drop.

Obviously, it's where the highest amount of revenue comes in for these two and what also generates most of the new fans now, not the comics anymore.

In the shows, video games, marvel is far more successful in terms of overall aspect everything else is subjective and comes down to whether you like this story or character more.

Nope, video games and animation is where DC does a better job. Arkham and Injustice beat the likes of Deadpool any day of the week and things like JLA, Batman the Animated Series and YJ beat things like Spectacular Spiderman and Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

The only place where I would say with confidence that Marvel dominates is cinema, but even this is only if we're lookin the present. Overall, DC has hits that simply overshadow Marvel Movies such as Batman 1989, TDK, V fot Vendetta and Watchmen.

Marvel wins the cinematic universe no fight there, but it hardly wins "overall" unless we're talking pure popularity which, again, doesn't say much for the quality.
