i think everyone who doesn't have enough intelligence on pain is going to have a hard time beating him...

so of the top of my head i'd go with Pain!

i just have to side with Jiraiya If he could only take down one Path without information, the third probably wouldn't be that tremendously better than Jiraiya and take out all six of them

Pain for sure Jiraiya was only able to figure out his secret because he new yahiko and nagato also the 3rd might be able to beat all 6 paths but he couldnt find the real pain

Pein got my vote. 3rd hokage already old so i don't think he can last very long at the battle.
jiraya in sage mode only can beat kill total of 4 body(3 body with help of pa & ma genjutsu and only was capture into the frog somatch or something and killed them with rasegan.... i don't think 3rd can kill even up to 4 bodies maybe like 2 ?

erd is a very skillful ninja ,has masteres his elements.earth and earth properly,he knows some sealing techniques ,he is great to taijutsu,ninjutsu,genjutsu,smarteness,handseals and also good but not so much because now he is very old at stamina,speedness and strength.....although that he was a very good ''foe'' for orochimaru,and he was a big trouble to handle him...but pain...he has rinnegan...he has masteres all 6 elements (earth,water,sky,fire,lightning,yin & yang) and he has the 6 paths of pain so only manipulate them to fight and not himself....sorry sarutobi but u are not woth a s*** in pain!!

If it was the 3rd back in his prime I think it would be a very close fight. He was the strongest Hokage to ever live (according to Iruka) and was considered the God of Shinobi. That title was later also used for Pain.

But if its against the older Hiruzen he doesn't stand much of a chance. He may take out a couple of bodies but in the end he just doesn't have the strength or stamina to keep up.

although id prefer to see the third logic makes me say pain, due to the fact the sage mode was needed by both jiraiya nd naruto to assist in fighting pain and the third didn;t have it although it would be cool if he did

Pein ofc . And btw what makes u think that third would do better than Jiraiya on Pein ?
Imo Third in his best days is not much stronger than Jiraiya , they are even rivals imo.
And btw , third wouldnt figure out Peins secret better then Jiraiya , since Jiraiya was able to figure out things ONLY bcoz he trained Yahiko and Nagato . Third would be in a big problem trying to figure out anything about Pein and he would surely lose that fight
