Does Ikemoto favor Naruto?

And here he couldn't even land a kick on momoshiki, who had his back turned and dodged naruto's kick easily.

All of this is the same thing as it was in the movie

However, ikemoto did change some things.
Note that Naruto had to put with momoshiki absorbing his chakra(specifically kurama's chakra) for several nonstop hours.
The man could block & dodge a powered up momoshiki.

Naruto didn't really get to fight much in the Boruto Movie outside of the tag team with Sasuke.

So he's probably letting him shine more. Sasuke already got his time in the Naruto Gaiden, so I guess they evened it out here where Naruto really does most of the work (at least in the Manga vers).

I'd say it's about time. Most of the Naruto manga and especially with SP favored anything Uchiha. I guess Ikemoto is, at least trying to balance it out some.

Well action wise all he did was fight Shin papa Shin and Shin army. Naruto fought Shin Shin clones. So you're right.

What I mean by 'not battle ready' is he still unclear on how powerful his opponent is until he experience it. Like in DBZ, Goku always battle ready but when he being push hard by his opponent is when he realize that he need to step up his game. And after that we saw he has that battle in his hand.

You can be battle ready but do you aware of your opponent strength? Unless you experience it first hand.

The fight sequence in Boruto movie wasn't handled by Kishi and SP tried to balance it out between Naruto and Sasuke. Ikemoto simply brought it back to reality in the manga.
