This is a good sensory jutsu for those without sensory and I believe a common prep move for rain style techniques. The jutsu does require a great deal of hand seals so it it best used a range so the user can have time to counter with another technique if they dont get it off. It can cover a large area and works well with the hidden mist jutsu. The jutsu also doesnt require chakra to maintain which is great. It can be countered by using a strong fuuton to blow away the clouds though or say a doton to cover yourself with from the rain.

Most certainly I am sure that you know of this technique. Basically user would perform a sequence of 8 hand seals, Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands, before either spewing out from their mouth and releasing chakra in pre-existing water source so as to create a sphere. However, this sphere will have to be constantly kept in contact with. There is a higher ranked better version of this technique imo, as it doesn't require constant contact and also it doesn't need so many hand seals.... Overall it is a cool technique, however unless you are using it in a combination with a clone or/and ally no much use. To defend from it, you could either use wind blade technique or a earth technique of sorts which will allow you to envelop your body in it as this technique will completely prevent your ability of movement.

Description: This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water by waving the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands spread in front palms out. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.​

Q: How many turns does it take the target to drown?
A: There is no precise number of turns. It all depends on how long the time-frame is extended, and the conditions of the person trapped inside. For example, one could have dealt a very powerful taijutsu move to the enemy that caused them to lose their breath. If the prison was used immediately afterwards, it would surely make it more difficult for the target to hold his breath. All in all, I would say after a good two turns or so. Though we both know its impossible to hold someone in for that long without doing something that prevents them from moving and such.

Q: Does the water clone usage require hand seals as well?
A: Yes, the water clone is merely used as a way to initiate the technique in a surprising manner as a source is needed, either naturally, or spewed from your mouth. In this case, the clone would act as the external water source.

Q: Can jutsu pierce he water prison without disrupting the jutsu?
A: In most causes, it would disrupt the technique as it would "cancel it out" or "weaken it". If the technique in question were to inflict damage on the user's hand, you can rest assured it would cause the user to deactivate it. As for lesser techniques, they wouldn't be able to go inside due to the compression and density of the sphere. However if specific techniques are strong to pierce through, and not harm the user's hand, the water prison would disperse, it would simply have a hole in it, where the piercing method was applied. For example, Kushimaru's Nuibari blade has the ability to pierce up to B rank physical techniques. This means that if I were to throw the needle blade, it would have the ability to pierce into/through the water prison without actually canceling it out. I think that's what you mean by disturb? I may have to explain this question once more, depending on your take on it haha.

In order to get used to your style Im going to ask that you please perform a battle combination using some of the water technique(s) you've learned thus far. Pretend like this is an official fight, follow all rules and restrictions. There will be a clone of myself, long range away from you. Please make your move ^_^

Standing long-range from your clone, I weave the hand seals Rat → Dog → Ox while running just into short range, and start to gather and mold suiton chakra in my right hand in the form of a long whip capable of reaching over mid-range. I then bring my right arm back and snap it forward in order to send my whip at your clone's neck. My whip quickly wraps and constricts around your clone's neck making it impossible for it to breathe through normal means. Once, my whip wrapped around your clone's neck, i quickly raised my right arm upwards and backwards. This made your clone's head point upward, creating a blind spot in front of it, and bring its body forwards. While doing those maneuvers, I use my suiton chakra to manipulate a small portion of the water in front your clone into a spinning drill of water. Your clone would be pulled into this drill of water, which would easily destroy a human head, and received fatal damage causing it to be dispelled.

A nice combination, I liked that you detailed which arms and hands you were using and how you were moving them to get your desired results. Detail is key when fighting, you have to pretend the opponent can't read your mind, which in most cases is what happens. You have to describe as much as possible and you did so in a simple and effective manner. I placed my clone a long range distance from you so I could give you a wider variety of things to do, but I understand that the lower ranking techniques limit almost all techniques up to mid range, so it's not your fault. A few things to keep in mind could be to add basic ninja weapons to your assaults, it makes for things for your target to deal with.

Description: The user can freely transform his body into liquid. This form allows him to avoid taking direct damage from many physical attacks but can not attack while in this form.
This technique is one of the most famous in the water arsenal. By focusing water chakra throughout your entire body, you will be able to turn yourself into liquid. This will naturally allow you to avoid physical damage, up to a certain degree. Logic is always applied to these things. For example an EIG special attack like the morning peacock is considered a physical attack because it uses the body. However in that particular case, the user punches so fast that friction is formed and flames are created. Those flames could potentially evaporate your watery state, so again, logic needs to be applied as to things you can defend from. This technique leaves you vulnerable to lightning techniques as well as others that may disperse your body into several places, causing your reforming to take longer, if you get to that point. During this state, you are unable to attack whether it be without chakra, or with it. The technique's sole purpose is to defend and avoid damage. This is a substitution technique so it abides by the battle rules which means, it can only be used once per battle, or once per NW-Event. If you use this technique, it means you can't use the normal substitution technique or any other one that specifies being a sub-tech. (Like Rock Lee's speedy evasion technique)

I want you to perform the technique and present some combinations, perhaps when you would use it. Sure, against an earth style technique but which one exactly? Which situation do you think it would be best not to use it in? And can you think of any other positives or negatives I did not mention?

Sorry for the wait. Been a bit busy lately.

Question: I can move while doing this jutsu correct? Like if somebody stabs me where my heart would be, if I solidify then my heart will have a sword in it if I dont move. Or is this jutsu best used for attacks that Im sure will pierce through my body like projectiles?

As directed and gather and mold suiton chakra evenly throughout my body. In doing so my body, normally made up of 70% water and other stuff, turns 100% in water while retaining an humanoid shape thanks to my chakra control. In this state physical can pierce through me without me taking any damage.

Seeing as it allows me to take physical attacks, I would use this jutsu I want to take a more reckless approach since I like kenjutsu and taijutsu. For example, if I perform the falling water jutsu on a target. Im in the air and thus gravity is in control. While im falling down on my target, they might take this opportunity to perform a ranged attack. I however can perform the water replacement jutsu and simply ignore their attack, assuming my move is a logical counter to their move, and continue on with my attack of course after dispelling my suition.

This jutsu logically is hard countered by scorch release which works by evaporating water. I suppose if an Ice Release shinobi has a custom that can turn water into snow or ice, this would kill the user. The force of an explosion more than likely is greater than the force holding the water substitution body together so that might still kill the user especially when you take into the fact the heat. Large amounts of lava is also dangerous.

A: Correct, you're still able to move while in the watery stage. Though, logic and common sense is to be used when trying to do so. For example an Earthen boulder colliding against your body would scatter you into several directions, forcing you to reform back again which isn't instant. The Water Sub needs to be used wisely as it puts you in a very vulnerable situation.

A: If I were you, I'd go with the latter option as it is the safest. If you allow someone to pierce you with their sword they can then easily release chidori through the blade or use the kenjutsu variant to shock your system, leaving you paralyzed as you turn back to normal.

All your points were valid, I'm glad you pointed out the heat from explosions as it's something usually underrated. In most cases, 1 or 2 explosive tags should produce enough heat to evaporate you while being a source of water. I'd say the Ninjutsu technique that causes tags to explode (C Rank) could possibly do the job if they are multiplied beforehand.

Next up you will be learning two techniques that are very similar in nature, however their strength is slightly different. For both techniques you will gesture the "Tiger" hand sign whilst focusing your water chakra on one of your desired feet. You will proceed to slam that foot on the ground whilst channeling your water chakra through it, allowing you to release a source of water. Using advanced shape manipulation the water source will be formed into that of a thin jet that runs through the ground, cutting it apart as it has the potential to slice through solids. (Mainly rock and such.) The difference between both techniques is that the B ranking one reaches slightly higher than the original. (Original reaching about 2-3m and the Latter 3-4) I want you to perform one of the two and analyze them both, using your experience after execution.

I weave the tiger hand seal and start to gather and mold suiton chakra in my right foot. I then stomp my foot which causes a sharp jet of water to shoot up from the ground towards a nearby log of wood. The suiton jutsu cuts through the wooden log with 0 signs of resistance.

Ok. My first observation is the little difference in height between the jutsu's. Unless a specific situation calls for the increased height I will probably use the C ranked version to save chakra. I might use the B ranked jutsu to hit low flying jutsu/objects or to intercept a jutsu. Which brings me to another point. The jutsus use the ground as a medium. Doton do this more often and have an elemental advantage. The jutsus are conveniently countered. Combining it with raiton can overcome this though. I also believe the suiton can only travel in a linear fashion. Now some pros are the 1 hand seal and stomp requirement. This allows the jutsu to be used in closer ranges of the opponent. If the target chooses to dodge they must either jum up or to the side. Knowing this, one could use other techniques to limit the dodging options.

The large amount of rain falling all around can then be turned into a large wave of water which sweeps the enemy off their feet while wrapping around him and binding him in the flow of water around him. While the targets are trapped in the water, their chakra will slowly be drained away. The water vortex can be sustained and controlled for up to two turns as long as the user keeps the dog hand seal made.
Note of word: in context of word choice its a sustained jutsu, meaning you can't use another jutsu while sustaining it if it doesn't say otherwise.

Water Style: Destruction Torrent
Decent jutsu. Given the mechanics of the jutsu it seems best to be used defensively and mid range. I personally wouldnt feel comfortable using it in CQC with the handseals. I guess it would be manageable if a shinobi can do suiton with one or no handseals.

Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique

Cool jutsu powerful jutsu but if one isnt a primary water jutsu specialist then it really shouldnt be used. The forty hand seals even if you weave seals fast still takes a long time. It also requires a large body of water. Overall the pros dont outweigh the cons if you dont specialize in suiton.

Water Style: Water Dragon Whip
Decent jutsu. It creates multiple targets. It would also work great if charged with raiton.

Water Release: Rising Water Slicer


Pretty standard jutsu. I would personally use this in a environment with limited ground visibility.

Water Release: Water Snakes Mouth
Pretty decent technique used to create space. Although there are a large amount of other jutsus that do that while also doing damage. I guess this technique can be used with Raiton though.

Water Release: Gushing Water Imprisonment

A great upgrade to the water prison jutsu. Essentially better in every way.

Water Release: Water Horn

Pretty standard suiton technique. Besides it helping form cement in quicklime it is basically a generic suiton.

(Suiton: Haran Banshō) - Water Release: Stormy Blockade


A very powerful jutsu on its own. Due to the concussive nature of suiton this jutsu should be capable of killing a person via breaking their neck. I would use it along with another distraction jutsu to keep their attention away from it. In fact I have a genjutsu that essentially depletes the effectiveness of ones vision and hearing that would work well with this.


(Suiton: Mizugakure no jutsu) - Water Release Hidden Amongst Water Technique


Somewhat decent jutsu. It says a short time so I guess it means 1 turn. This jutsu is also just asking for the opponent to use scorch or a raiton jutsu. Seems like a good way to escape techniques.

Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave

One of the best suiton techniques in my opinion as shown by Kisame. It creates a large source of water for the usage of other powerful suiton. Due to the size of the suiton it more than likely wont be all disposed of. That would require a powerful enough suiton or scorch release jutsu to evaporate it or a powerful enough fuuton to carry it and throw it somewhere else.

Water Release: Grudge Rain Technique


Another decent technique. Although in my opinion chakra drainage techniques are really only viable when the target is dangerously low on chakra.

Water Release: Water Quaking Pillar

The jutsu says offensive but id rather use this jutsu defensively to block attacks from nearly all angles. The fact that you have to jump seems to take away its effectiveness offensively.

( Suiton: Seiryūshō ) - Water Release: Azure Dragon Palm


Standard suiton. It comes from the hands and requires no seals so it would work great in cqc.

To be quiet honest this jutsu seems very similar to the water dragon whip jutsu.

Cool water bending like jutsu. Like how it is used in Meis taijutsu combos in the game, I would use this in CQC. It would also work great as a short range katon deterrent.

A decent technique as well. It would require a body release jutsu such as nagashi to get rid of. Of course this jutsu can also be combined with raiton.

Another pretty useful water source creating technique. I dont know what a human sized pond means though.

Description: After doing the needed hand seals Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Ram → Boar → Ox → Horse → Monkey → Tiger → Dog → Tiger → Snake → Tiger → Ox → Monkey → Rabbit → Bird, the user will form a gigantic vortex of water in the form of a ring in front of him. It will then shoot a gigantic torrent of water that extends water over a large scale, surges upon impact and rises up to several dozen meters high only to collapse down, forming massive waves all around as it does. The effect is such that as its collapsing it resembles a waterfall, hence the name of the technique. In doing so, it resembles a huge wave, with tremendous power that can hollow out the ground. What remains after that technique's utilization is reminiscent of no less than the aftermath of a natural disaster. This is a considerably advanced ninjutsu, and activating this technique requires a fair amount of chakra. The normal use of the technique requires a water source which is manipulated into the technique but some users have shown the ability to use the technique as a water stream exhaled from the mouth and forming more of a gigantic barrage/stream/wave of water rather than the more intricate and complex use of the main application of the technique.
Note: Can be used with a water source or by using one's own chakra to exhale the technique without the need for a water source nearby.

(Suiton: Gufuu Suika) - Water Style: Typhoon Water Vortex
A powerful jutsu in its own right. As seen in the manga it can compete with powerful katon/fuuton combos. It may also create a large amount of chakra steam. If possible one might want to just used a very powerful suiton if possible due to this jutsu requiring a clone and using a fuuton rasengan.

(Suiton: Daibakufu no Jutsu) - Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique

Another powerful jutsu. However it suffers some of the cons of water dragon jutsu. It requires a large mount of hand seals. Luckily it can be dont without a water source. I still feel this jutsu shouldnt be used by nonwater specialist. Due to the large of amount of force the jutsu will surely break bone and doe internal concussive damage if not out right kill the target.

(Suiton: Senkogenma Kujo) – Water Release: Flash Grinding Destruction


This a a suiton that takes advantage of ones environment. It doesnt take handseals and while it does say it breaks bones, the user can have the sharks try to break the bones in the neck which will at worst paralyze the target and at best kill the target. This can also be used in combination with tai/kenjutsu if the user works in coordination with their sharks. Really any jutsu can be comboed into it.

(Suiton: Kyojin Nami Shougeki) – Water Release: Giant Wave Crash

Standard Water release jutsu. Its great in size and power though. If water has enough kinetic energy to push 8 tails back then a Human has no chance of surviving. This jutsu can also we used to push back gundams and giant summons as well.

This is a good defensive move. Moderate amount of handseals, covers all angles besides directly above, doesnt need a water source, and the user can still see through the water and be aware of his surroundings. However one could point out that the large amount of moving water could cause a decent amount of sound and drown, get it... drown... okay no, out other noise. If the enemy gets caught in the water, raiton could also be added.

(Suiton: Kōka Suijin) - Water Release: Hard Whirlpool Water Blade


If my memory is correct this is Tobirama's jutsu or combo from one of the video games. I suspect the water explosion would be lethal especially if used on the head. The whirlpool in the video game looked moreso like a drill but this jutsu doesnt mention any drill properties so I will assume it doesnt have any.

(Suiton: Mizu no Tatsumaki) - Water Release: Tornado of Water


Honestly this seems like a better version of water encampment wall besides the inability to see though the water. It requires less hand seals while using water to cover the same amount of area while also no doing damage.

Description:
A secret technique of Takigakure that allows the user to manipulate nearby water into the form of a sword, by compressing it to incredible amounts, making it seem solid and sharp, almost crystalline in nature. The sword is very resilient and extremely useful against Fire attacks or Fire enhanced weaponry. The sword, once formed, can be thrown as a projectile or wielded. If thrown, it will do menial damage (C-Rank) but it can be wielded as any other sword and due to its incredible sharpness, can be quite dangerous. It can be used for melee based Kenjutsu attacks.
Note: While the sword is being sustained, the user can only mold Water Techniques.

(Suiton: Ryuutai Suteppu) - Water Style: Fluid Step

Description: Ryuutai Suteppu is a very simple taijutsu technique with the enhancement of water. When being attacked in close range, the user will focus his chakra in the moisture of the air and materialize water beneath his feet. He will then use that water to slide back and forth in the ground as if he were standing on ice. However unlike ice, the user has complete control over his fluid movements. Can be used quite effectively to boost the randomness of movement when using Drunken Style. This technique will last for two turns, but the user will be restricted in using no other elemental affinities.
