Hinata is from the Hyuga clan, she just got soloed by her younger sister and lost the position at the head of the clan so I would say Himawari is also Hyuga by extension.

I think I misread the thread , Himawari has the Hyuga bloodline but she doesn't have the Hyuga name , neither does Hinata after she got married to Naruto, her name now is Hinata Uzumaki

and @bold , true , but she was able to face Neji (who was considered to be the strongest genin) , while Sakura (who was supposed to be one of the main characters ) , was nothing but a waste of ink and panel back then

(not bashing , and not starting to turn this to a versus thread , I am just saying )

just because she lost to her little sister once , that doesn't mean that her little sister can still beat her , Hanabi was irrelevant in the series and we barely know anything about her and about her strength , but she seems to be a prodigy , but still that doesn't mean that she is still stronger than Hinata , because there is nothing that proves that

and don't forget that Hinata was the Byakugan princess and she has Hamura's chakra (but to tell you the truth , I feel sad for the power that has been wasted on her , if anyone deserved to be Hamura's successor , that is Neji )

Hinata has no formal tittle that equates to a position of a governing nation, tribe or clan. She just comes from a blood of people who hold or has held positions/ titles that equates to them. Again, when you marry into a family/bloodline who holds the same esteem as to which you come from, you don't drop the name you were born with because it's equal in honor to the one your marring.

well.. , I just don't know about all that , I just know that the only thing Hinata cared of is being with Naruto-kun , she didn't seem to be interested in her clan at all , and that's really was something terrible about her character ,
