For me the problem with the Boruto Movie and manga was shown this last chapter. When the movie was first coming out I wondered how they were going to come out with a villain that can both challenge Naruto and Sasuke and yet have Boruto face them too. We all know Naruto and Sasuke are extremely OP. Realistically any villain strong enough to even challenge them should be completely out of people like Boruto's league.

The thing is there were three ways Kishi could have gone about this knowing that Boruto was going to be the main character and needed a good showing. He could have either largely have kept Naruto and Sasuke in the background of the movie and had Boruto go against some villain that is closer to his level. Kishi still clearly wanted Naruto and Sasuke to have a big role though. The other way was to have two villains with Boruto taking on one closer to his level and Naruto and Sasuke taking on another at their level. This could be like the first chunnin exams where Naruto took on Gaara at the same the third Hokage took on Orochimaru. In this case they all could have good showings against opponents at their level. Instead though he forced there to be alien opponents strong enough to challenge Naruto and Sasuke and yet Boruto was able to contribute in the fight including finishing them off.

For this to happen he had to come up with nonsensical excuses for Boruto coming along in the other dimension at all, extreme nerfing of the Kages and Sasuke, as well as nerfing the villains abilities to react to Boruto's poorly thought out powers just so Boruto could contribute in a big way in his movie. I just think Kishi could have come up with much better ways to solve the problem of trying to have your cake and eat it too.

@Bold:

I like that idea. It would've been better than having some guy who's supposed to be a threat to Kaguya getting killed by a genin. Lol

Kawaki will not be as strong as Naruto and Sasuke . Kawaki will come up with a stratedgy to end them not by over powering them
