Crazy how Stuart Snyder killed Naruto's momentum in the US

Naruto was huge on Cartoon Network when it was airing from 2005-2009. Then, Stuart Snyder, Cartoon Network's president at the time, decided to push live action TV shows and cancelled Naruto right before Shippuden was about to start. Shippuden started airing on Disney X D in 2009, but it flopped because nobody watches Disney for anime lol

Now Shippuden airs on Adult Swim, but it's just old episodes no one gives a shit about. Tbh Shippuden should have just been on Adult Swim from the start in 2009. Maybe Nicktoons would have been good since it had Avatar and Korra, which are pretty similar to Naruto. But Shippuden would probably get cancelled eventually on Nicktoons since Nicktoons eventually cancelled Korra

Another reason why nobody watched it on X D was because it was censored into oblivion.

Like actual episodes would be cut apart and would have like 14 minutes of run time.

yeah a show like Shippuden was never suited on X D. In an age with the ever-growing Internet, fans obviously wouldn't bother with such an inferior censored version when they could just watch it uncut for free online. So not only did it fail to appeal to X D's target audience, it didn't even have any hardcore Naruto fans backing it.

even dragon ball z kai on nicktoons was destroying shippuden in the ratings. considering the fact kai is just a condensed version of an old ass anime, that's pretty sad lol

Yeah when Naruto suddenly stopped airing I had just assumped it was cancelled and I had to make my own head canon ending. Then I saw it on XD for awhile and watched it because otherwise I never even knew it existed (Shippuden) then it stopped airing on Disney or I lost the channel don't remember which but either way I had to look for it online because now I knew it wasn't cancelled this was right before sai was introduced too.

So I found it online but couldn't watch the episodes in fear of running over our data so I found the manga and just read it never looked back k xD now I can watch the anime though with unlimited data.

Yeah that live action stuff was so lame. They can't be Disney or nickelodeon. The are CARTOONnetwork. It's in the name.

In Naruto's case, I heard the main reason it was cancelled was because of the huge drop in ratings due to the 2 years of fillers just before Shippuden was set to start. I know I stopped watching half way through them because they were boring and lame AF. Nobody cared to watch them so they pulled it.
