Aight, hello there.

Gimme a little run down on how important legs are to basic close quarters combat and how that translates to better Taijutsu skills. If that's a headache just perform for me your favorite Taijutsu combo involving (at some point) any form of leg based attack/maneuver.

Hello! Lol

The most basic fundamentals of CQC are the involvement of the legs. This goes beyond that of kicks or running, as most people believe, but extends to things such as body stance, jump height, weight shifting, and balance. Greater control of ones legs will help all of these areas, thus greatly improving the hand to hand fighting skills of the individual. This leads to better Taijutsu because all of these things accumulate into faster, more fluid, and overall stronger actions when taken, leading to heightened mastery of Taijutsu within itself.

Sorry, but your wording is a bit ambiguous (it's probably how I'm reading it tbh). Would you like to see the combo as well, or will the answer to your question suffice?

I wanted a combo as well.

So while you're cooking me that combo, tell me about what you know of Leg Weights as seen in the manga/anime. What kind of perks do they grant, and who are some renowned users of this "art"?

Trunks prepares for the combo by stretching his legs a bit, before running full force at the dummy. Once he is within range, he drops to the side, catching himself with his hands, as he spins his right leg around counter clockwise, just above the ground. The kick contacts the back of the dummies legs, and as it does, Trunks lifts his leg high into the air in order to flip the dummy legs up and into the air simultaneously. With its shoulders now facing toward the ground, Trunks releases several kicks one after the other, hitting alternating shoulders while incrementally lifting the dummy higher and higher into the air. Once they have reached a very high point, Trunks gives one more kick, to slightly spin the dummy before bringing both fist down from overhead, smashing it in its spine and sending it hiking toward the ground. Racing to meet it as lands, Trunks then brings down his heel into the dummy's front side as the ground crushes it's back, in a sort of lions barrage style move. Trunks then gets up and dusts himself off before returning to his position.

Leg Weights are just as they are called. Weights that one puts around their legs in order to train more effectively. Users become accustomed to the increased weight by never removing the weights in times of leisure, though this takes some time. When they do become accustomed, however, their leg strength and speed increase dramatically while the weights are removed. In terms of our RP, x2 speed and +20 to kick based taijutsu. The only two that I remember using them in the anime were Rock Lee and Guy, but I could be forgetting someone.

Yea some other Tai scrubs started using them in the aftermath of the Ninja War (i.e. The Last) but they're irrelevant. Anyway, have a look at these goodies:

Description:
The Leg Weights used for Special Taijutsu Training with Added Weights are made through the application of a sealing formula to ordinary leg weights. The sealing formula is used to, through the use of chakra, increase the weight of the leg weights to the desired level. The seal can't be applied to anything other than the leg weights and its use is restricted to its original purpose. One can remove the leg weights but the sealing technique in them stays active indefinitely and can't be released. Additionally, the Leg Weights and their unique seal calibration makes them only usable by the ninja to whom they belong. They can't be sealed or stolen.

I want you to try that combo you just did but with these attached to your legs this time. Detail exactly what would happen to your kicks and movements when these newly added weights are in the equation.

Sure Trunks says as he readies himself by setting up the dummy about the same distance as before, then he continues by strapping on the weights. He then goes to sprint in like he did before, but his first step is dragged to the ground under the pressure of the weights. Nearly tripping due to this, Trunks regains his balance and continues. He drops to his side like before, to do the leg sweep, but finds that his leg drags the ground at a much slower rate as he does. It contacts the dummy in the same manner, but when Trunks goes to lift his leg, he can only manage to lift it half as high as he did before. Reorienting himself quickly, Trunks manages to get a few kicks to the shoulder area of the dummy to raise it off of the ground a bit, but the kicks are less impactful, and the dummy doesn't raise as high. Trunks continues this process over and over, but cannot muster the strength to raise the dummy above his head. Quickly finding his limitations, Trunks attempts to jump and deliver a spin kick horizontally to model his earlier move, but finds that the weights weigh him down enough that jumping more than half a meter seems impossible. Crashing hard onto the ground, Trunks lets out a sigh as the dummy falls into a heap.

The weights are too much for the last move at my current level, Sensei, apologies.

Very nice description there. But yeah what you described is correct, the newly added weights would throw your entire balance of person off with even the slightest movement. Running, kicking, even walking would be difficult. But, as with all things, time helps and so I want you to practice with these weights for exactly a month before coming back here for the second half of your training.

Sounds good?

Crouching beside his student and undoing the straps around the weights one at a time, Yosamu removed the heavy weights which fell with the sound of steel.

"There. Now, you should feel a lot different, so I want you to take time to describe all that's happening. Beat up that dummy just like how you did a few days ago."

As he says this the training dummy appears in the dojo, much farther than it was last time; mid ranged. It would take quite some time to cover that distance normally and so Yosamu took his position on the sidelines to watch what Trunks will do.

As his teacher addresses him, Trunks chuckles a bit thinking back on his month. He remembers the hours it took to get home after initially having them put on, the struggle to put on pants in the mornings, and that time he fell in the shower. Trunks shudders thinking of how he laid there like an elderly woman, lacking the strength to make himself rise from the full day of training he had undergone. Either way, this had been a month of growth and it was time to see what fruits his training had bared.

Trunks then allows his teacher to remove the weights, being sure to stay out of his way as he did so. As the weights fall, Trunks bends down and rubs his ankles. It had been quite a while since he could see them, much less feel them, and the rubbing helped return much needed circulation.

Coming to a standing position, Trunks attempts to lift his legs to stretch his thigh muscles, and accidently makes himself jump off of the ground. His eyes widening, Trunks realizes what just happened. Unreal. Just now, I attempted to do a warm up exercise and the strength I used lifted me off of the ground a bit. I feel completely weightless, like the entirety of my body has lost nearly all mass. I don't know how else to describe it.

Taking his stance Trunks then charges at the dummy. Moving at unbelievable speeds, Trunks nearly topples over as if he was overwhelmed by his newfound speed. Regaining composure, he then continues on toward the dojo. As he comes into close quarters to the dummy, Trunks drops and leg sweeps as before, this time though, the dummy is lofted way higher into the air, nearly reaching the top of the dojo. Trunks then compensates by jumping what he percieves to be very high, but with the weights now off, the height of his jumps would increase, unbeknownst to Trunks. As he launches himself, he immediately realizes that he is going to fast, and will crash into the roof if he doesn't do something. Thinking quickly, Trunks spins his body so that his legs are above, and braces his impact by bending at the knees. Springing off the roof full force, breaking a board in the process, Trunks launches himself while spinning back around to the perfect position to catch the dummy with his barrage style technique. The force behind his blow dragging them both down, the floor crashes through upon impact.

After moment, Trunks stands and returns to his teachers position. Sorry about your dojo.. I guess I don't know my own strength? Trunks says while laughing nervously

Yosmau held a hand up as Trunks apologized. "Nonsense," he exclaimed, "I've seen the true power of youth within you, boy! Raaaageeeee with the might of Taijutsuuuu! NuuU!1!"

With that, seemingly inspired by his student's profound actions, Yosamu stomped his leg on the ground, shaking the ground between them and the entire temple. A nearby beam fell in the distance, followed by a pane of glass slipping out and shattering outside. It would take a few more seconds before the sensei got a hold of himself.

"Right, sorry about that. You've achieved true greatness now, my student. You now leave this dojo a symbol of might!"
