Did Sasuke lose the final fight due to plot?

It is funny how people cry about plot and state that it is the reason their sasufodder lose vote2 but he won vote1 because there was no plot armor.

I am sure summoning Gamabunta and Naruto soloing the fodder neg-low diff did not happen because there was no plot armor

No just think of it Naruto was dominating Sasuke in the last battle throughout. The only point were Sasuke had the advantage was when he was in awakened mode n Naruto was just going defensive without using any special mode .
But when he did Sasuke resorted to long range battles.
This clearly shows that Naruto's SOSP mode was more powerful then Sasuke's EMS and Rinnegan. That's why Sasuke even took chakra from the nine beasts to get some upper hand.
So no plot was needed for Naruto's win as he was already stronger than Sasuke . That's another point that before the fight Sasuke declared himself STRONGEST NINJA ALIVE by his own??

I wonder how Naruto would have fared on his own merit and power.

How can u say that . Sasuke used the chakra of all the nine tails in the last fight through ct. I mean even if they were not cooperating him but still Sasuke was using them as his chakra source.
So all I wanted to say is that even Sasuke was not fighting on his own merit n power

Not sure what manga you've read, but their fight ends in a perfect tie, hence both of them losing their arms, and both of them lying on the ground for days. They're both strong, Sasuke has his dexterity and techniques while Naruto has his insane amount of stamina and chakra.
The whole scenario was probably decided before even starting the anime, which is that Naruto will someday cling up to Sasuke's level, saying that it's "just cause of plot" is kind of stupid of you, wouldn't you think? After all, the writer decides how the story ends, and he has a long time ago.

Honestly yes, mostly due to that ridiculous power-up he had. The chakra of all the tailed beasts fueled into a PS should've made things unfair even.

but we have to go with the manga, narrative decides the power levels, not the other way around.

Shukaku, Matatabi, Isobu, Kokuo, Saiken, Chomei, Son Goku, Gyuki, Itachi's unearned eyes and Hagoromo/Hashirama's free handouts from Sasuke too in this fight then if we wanna see him fare by his own merit.

You might argue he didn't use them for tactics (but neither did Naruto really) but that's his own tactical decision, seeing them only as chakra banks. Hypocritical argument.

True, sharingan is his rightful ability but not Itachi's eyes that granted him EMS and prevented blindness.

I don't see how it matters that he has the EMS, it's like getting on Naruto for having Sage Mode to avoid losing his right arm from using the Rasen-Shuriken.
