Teen girls have irregular periods (sometimes) they find out too Late and miss the cut off for a legal abortion.
Religious reasons
Social stigma
Forceful parents
Tax incentives/welfare
Too naive to understand life
Money problems/no abortion clinics available.
Some states really try to force its citizens not to get abortions.

Sorry but not everyone believes in supernatural beings that they've never seen. Therefore it's not a sin for most people who get abortions. No one cares what the bible says. I support abortions that's for sure

It's still illegal or restricted under certain conditions in a lot of countries. Plus being 15-16 you probably wouldn't have money for one especially if you wanna hide it. Then again there's the good ol coat hanger method.

I think they didn't knew they were pregnant till it was too late

and when this happens there can be dire consequences if it was carried through so best way will be educate them about sexuality and consequences they face if they practice unprotected sexual activities ( boys and girls alike after their puberty ) because it is easier to prevent than solving problems afterwards .
