Maybe because Naruto and Sasuke are complete opposites and so is their respective fanbases. Their opinion too differ a lot. So its not hating Sasuke or Naruto but the fanbases imo.

I don't think the naruto fanbase hates sasuke,it just the sasuke fanbase that's annoying. You'll barely see naruto fans making sasuke bash threads,but all the cancerous sasuke fanboys do is make threads bashing naruto as if they have some psychological problem with a cartoon drawing. I actually don't hate him at all. I liked part 1 sasuke and early part 2, but when obito shoved his Zetsu penis up Sasuke's arse after the fight with itachi I started disliking him. How he wanted to kill everyone in konoha because they're happy? Typical uchiha. I liked how he was butthurt about Naruto in the war arc trying to order him around thinking he's number one (arrogant much?). Didn't mind him until his whole revolution nonsense, like what did garaa, tsunade and mei do? It's onoki and A you want dead but alas typical uchiha behaviour. Then afterwards he went back to being normal again. It's mostly the fanboys I don't like (same for probably other fans as well), its always bash threads here and there with them.

Itachi wasn't perfect and clearly at the end of the story had a massive form of regret in his heart because of what he did in the Uchiha massacre. Itachi became a tool, acting like he loved the village even though the village never did anything to warrant such devotion and loyalty, his character is full of massive plot holes that could easily be avoided.

Sasuke was better than his peers in his time as a ninja in Konoha, and when he left I believe it was Naruto that decided to initiate their fight. When he went to the Five Kage Summit, he was attacked first, and then the Five Kage stopped him from chasing after Danzo but then blamed him for Danzo's escape.

On the Samurai Bridge, Sakura tried to kill him and he saw through it and tried to kill her first which failed. Then Kakashi tried to kill him which also failed, then Sakura tried to kill him again which also failed.

Sasuke is a character who makes decisions on his own, blunders, and makes mistakes in comparison to Naruto's ever perfect persona. Naruto fans seem a little jealous that Naruto has little to no intellectual or philosophical substance to him, and never changes throughout the story as things change around him. Arrogance is a flaw that all people with talent have, especially Itachi who admitted his arrogance when fighting Kabuto.

I was a Naruto fan but got annoyed as his character ignored Obito's words, and information like the Uchiha massacre. When Pain questions him about peace, he has no answer but idealistic dribble. His character's claim to fame is a borrowed power while Sasuke's abilities are his own besides Amaterasu. Sooner or later you'll feel disappointed in Naruto as a character.

This forum becomes so bizarrely immature when talking about these characters.

The Sasuke/Naruto fanbases trying to one-up each other used to remind me of sports team but now it's just straightup fourth-grade school playground level bickering.

I got nothing against adult Sasuke. It's a return to form for me. I didn't mind Sasuke until after his fight with Danzo. His reasons for being the bad guy just seemed like a terrible plot device to keep him at odds with Naruto so they could fight in the end. After Danzo Sasuke had no real reason for a revolution.

If Naruto and Sasuke were to fight it should have been for title of Hokage so they could realize their goals for the Ninja world respectively. If Sasuke would have been the more tempered Sasuke we know currently, I would have had no issues with him if he beat Naruto a VOTE II fight and became Hokage himself.

But that whole "the world isn't fair to me so everyone must bow to me or die" attitude was absolutely annoying AF....

Don't get me wrong. Naruto's "I'm always right and my way is the only right way" attitude was pretty childish as well. It was almost like he refused to acknowledge the problems the Ninja system created.

But at least he didn't take it out on everyone else.
