We are little sheep thrown on a path and directed by emotions. We are guided and scolded like children even as adults.
I like a girl but I don't ask her out, someone else does.Jelousy feels me, anger feels me and shame. My emotions punish me like a child and the next time I like someone, my memories of the pain I had come out and remind me. I decide, ask her out or be punished again? Ask her and I will be given a reward.Dont ask the girl you really like and you will feel like shit, maybe for months or years. Until you meet someone else you like.
Our emotions hold our hands and push us not only to reproduce but for* jobs, friends, holidays and goals.
We chase emotions, the emotion of accomplishment. If I feel accomplishment after doing my work I am more willing to do it again to get that feeling. The "satisfying" jobs people have chosen are not because some* extraordinary reasons but because it makes them feel a certain way. This is the reward system. We are like dogs chasing a treat.
We are slaves to our emotions. No matter how much "you are your own person" and how much you think YOU are the top dog, there is always a higher "being" or thing which we all obey. Even now as I am writing this I am obeying my emotions in for a reward. What reward you may ask? I am chasing the reward to have my theory acknowledged and agreed with (hopefully). If I get good responses,I will feel good. It is what I as a human am seeking right this second.
