Did Shippuden's War Arc Ruin Minato For You?

I don't know about you all, but I felt like Minato's character got ruined a little when he was reanimated. He was built up as a tactical bad *** in the brief moments we saw him beforehand, then we saw how much the pervy sage revered him as being a once in a generation talent, and then we saw Kushina's flashback.

Then the war happened and it felt like I was reading a different character. Am I alone? I expected total bad *** moments like Hiruzen got when he used all 5 nature types.

Nope, it made him more well-rounded as a character. He still had his moments, and honestly, using basic streams of the five basic natures wasn't that bad-ass.

This. Remember how Minato said he never was able to master it when he was alive, but was using it as an Edo? I know it was incomplete, but come on. Minato was shown to have made the contract, so we knew it was possible, but having him randomly use the ability and build in a back door reason for why he couldn't use it as well when he was alive is suspect.

I give a pass for that. Gai was so fast that he was warping the space around him. If Minato would have just casually watched that with no reaction, everyone in their right mind would have called B.S. on that. Gai was showing feats that we hadn't seen far as speed goes.

You're a good soul then.

I'd still say taking the leadership role even when one of the most prominent tacticians was around was a badass moment as well as Minato and Naruto's father/son relationship being developed during their fight with Juubito.

See the father son relationship didn't need to be developed any further imo. Sometimes less is more. Minato is one of my favorite characters lol.

No but it did worsen it. It was the constant irrelevant hype throughout the Turtle Island arc that put me off him before that. During the 10 Tails arc (Pre-Madara takeover) Minato was truly terrible though, blatant victim of 'Kishi's Anime Bf of the Month' syndrome.

Minato was only likeable for me during his kid flashbacks with Kushina and his final moments with Naruto.

Didn't really plant himself in my memory there no, there was little character shown. Just one general kind sensei moment and him showcasing FTG. Wasn't really enough to sell me at the time, whilst I remember both Kakashi and Obito leaving an impression.

EDIT: Oh I forgot his other minor flashback exchange with Obito. Those kind words were great, I remember liking him that week whilst everyone else freaked out over the speed feat.

I'd say, all of the re-animated characters were kinda ruined... Some completely, some took their time to their ruins.

Minato was OK considering all he did in presence of god-like characters was still somehow impactful...
But I'm so glad that Jiraiya wasn't revived.

The Obito and Minato moments in the war were nice. Fair point

Jiraiya was in that category with Minato for me, beautiful death and didn't need to be brought back. Once I saw how Kishi did Sasori and Asuma, egh
