Naruto still had to Control the chakra kurama gave to him, he still had to mold it and put it into jutsu's.

Boruto's device takes away the need to control chakra, Mold chakra or the need for chakra all together.

They aren't really comparable.

They may be different, but the only difference is the need to mold chakra, a very insignificant thing. Something so small doesn't make them "not really comparable". They're both outside source of power from different beings.

With only sage mode, dud is only somewhat above Neji and Lee.

It's hardly an insignificant thing, The ability to control and mold chakra is a must for every shinobi, It's one of the first and most important skills they learn as Genin.

Naruto had to use his power/skills to control the power given to him by kurama, Boruto just slaps a device on that does 100% of the work for him with almost zero input from boruto. The very jutsu's he even uses aren't even molded by him or have any traces of his chakra in them

There are different levels of chakra control harbors different results.
They aren't a step apart at all, One is manually using your own skill/ability to control chakra regardless of it's source, The other is completely removing the need to do so or even know what chakra is.

Doesn't matter how he gets it, He still has to have the ability to control both his and the chakra given to him, he still has to be able to mold both his own chakra and the chakra kurama gave him and he still needs the ability to control such massive amounts of chakra, which kurama even gave him praise for during the war arc.

No, Naruto controls and mold the chakra for TBB, Kurama doesn't do it for him. Putting both the chakra Kurama gave him at the right chakra raito and his own Senjutsu into it.
