To have been the grandson of HASHIRAMA SENJU, he should've been so strong that I wouldn't even question it.

We all know that Sakumo Hatake was strong and we never saw him fight.

Naruto was Kakashi student that should tell you how much potential the village saw in him. And expecting Nawaki to be as strong as an incarnate is unrealistic, furthermore even someone as strong as Hashirama would've died in Nawaki's scenario. No 12 year old is tanking an explosion.

And finally, the reason of Nawaki's death had nothing to do with strength but everything to do with inexperience and cockiness, he fekk for the bait quicker than R Kelly
