Contrary to popular belief, Hamura didn't give Hinata a power-up. But, the Hyuuga's were shafted hard. They are the strongest Clan bar 'Uchiha/Senju', and even though the Otsutsuki have the Byakugan, it still isn't relevant because the Dojutsu has no powers.

Kinshiki, Momoshiki, Kaguya, Hagoromo, etc,. none of them use their Byakugan (Hagoromo doesn't have one tho). Hamura/Toneri do, but they used the Tenseign.
