Mitsuki is a better choice to be under Sasuke wings ,since Orichimaru was their both Sensei at some point, and the guy got the basic talent without using Mechanical devices to win his chunin exam battle (unlike Baruto).

Currently ,Mitsuki have sage mode along with other snake like jutsu. Mitsuki can be consider to be a minature version of Kabutomaru (having hashirama ,sasuke and other dna) who was the closes to SO6p powers .

Shinobi like Kawaki will not be a treat to Konoha ,if Mitsuki was Sasuke's student,because Mitsuki will sense Kawaki present and kill him through stealth or other means

Boruto is a prodigy dude. He can use 3 changes in nature, but is still mastering them. He learns jutsu fast as hell. He just is missing the grit that comes with being a powerhouse.
