It's so weird to me that the US and Japan alone entertain the world.
I can't even imagine what it'd be like if I were born in another country, growing up mostly watching TV shows and movies from another country.
Yeah, England should be proud of the likes of Doctor Who, James Bond, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit. There's also BBC, but I can say for certain its shows aren't that popular in America.
But even those don't measure up to America's Disney, Marvel, DC, Hollywood, Microsoft/Xbox, etc. And Japan's anime and manga, Nintendo, Sony/PlayStation, Final Fantasy, etc.
China has blessed the world with some awesome martial arts flicks, but that's really it.
India has Bollywood. But the world definitely isn't crazy for it.
Why don't other big, first-world countries feel the need to compete against the US and Japan in fiction and entertainment?
Is it just because they're not as globalist as the US and Japan are?
