rapper/producer J.Cole just put up an album today on iTunes for pre order titled, 4 Your Eyez Only. this is following his no feature album that went platinum in 2014, which is rare for any rapper. releases on Dec 9th and has 10 tracks

im pretty hyped, this album is most likely going to be fire. one of the top conscious rappers in the genre dropping an album after all thats happened in the US the past year with police killings and trump winning. not to mention Hip-hop legends and one of J.Cole's heroes A Tribe Called Quest dropped a really good album to inspire him further and he just dropped a really good album prior, hype is real

I can't name any of his newer songs although I've heard a few, but I vividly remember the first song I heard him on, it was called "Gladiators" with B.O.B(back when b.o.b was actually good) way back. That's still one of my favs to this day

Its funny because despite their abilities we can all agree the albums they dropped werent what we were expecting.

yeah i agree it was mediocre. which isnt good for art

i just feel like hes playing follow the leader too much with Kendrick Lamar. like he already did the Jazz thing and really well, why are you just following him? im not understanding

also his songs have a bunch of filler lyrics and he missed at portraying the concept. why even make an album if you have nothing to say, literally having a song about folding clothes. its just extremely uninspired but hes technically good enough that it sounds decent and not trash
