Without Sasuke, Naruto series would've been below average

They could have added an emo rabbit with superpowers that went around destroying everything and that would have kept it alive. Says a lot about the targeted audience.

You keep thinking that.
Sasuke was actually the downfall of the manga it was because of him and uchiha that kishi stoped caring about the other characters development and even had naruto having to woory about him in most of part 2
The moment naruto put aside sasuke to deal with other things was the time were the manga started to be amazing again.
I mean just take a look at pain arc.

Naruto is the true cash cow sasuke wasn't even relevant for the majority of the series

/Thread.

Because dojutsu is more original than giant rasengans, people get tired from seeing the same feats and giant explosions but Sasuke always bringing something new to the table

Just look at that finesse

How is it Sasuke is the last novel, but they animate Sasuke's first? LMAO!! Lets be honest, Sasuke was the fastest way to bring fans back to show. Sasuke name alone sells.

How is it, two episodes in and it's already the best arc?

I gotta admit I am hooked to this Sasuke Special. New characters, casinos where rich people beat on shinobi's, Sasuke and Orochimaru humor! X3

It's like such a breath of fresh air.

Oh sh*t somebody finally said it.

The focus on the Uchiha was certainly the ending of the interesting action and good fights.

Yet how is it that Sasuke had the best fights in this manga? No honestly, Naruto brought nothing to the table in terms of fights, Sasuke always brought tons of variety in a fight, lots of tactics, taijutsu, genjutsu, you name it.

In shippuden Naruto had 1 good fight against Pain.

Sasuke had Deidara, Itachi, Killer Bee, Danzo.

Naruto fights were him spamming clones to create a rasengan, whoop dee doo! I say this as a fan of neither character btw, don't like Sasuke as a character at all he's wack, but he brought entertainment to this series.

SP can do so much more with Sasuke than they can do with Naruto. His personality is not as goofy so we always get a serious ninja vibe from him. He is also always outside the village so new characters, aliens, kkgs to be discovered.
Sasuke is better to watch in battle because of the strategies and tatics he uses against his opponents. And lastly he is not as predictable as Naruto is.

Sasukes fights are amazing until EMS. Nobody can deny that, Perfect Susanoo (or in general really), dependence on amateresu, totsuka, genjutsu, izanagi and other visually unstimulating jutsu are dull and replaced the stuff that made the Bee / Deidara battles amazing (even down to the little things like Sasuke's strategic use of wire and environment and actual Kenjutsu)

Also when i'm not d*ck-measuring the 2 protagonists like other people on the base...I just mean Obito, Madara, Itachi, Kakashi that one time and Sasuke. Mostly war stuff tbh.

Sasuke that you talk about died the day He said "I QUIT" to Naruto and was replaced by the New Sasuke who follows Naruto's lead.

Well yea the war as a whole was garbage, because it only became about who has the bigger nukes. It's not even the Uchiha, it's literally the direction Kishimoto went with for any character that needed to remain relevant.

Naruto's BM is him spamming nukes all over the battlefield. Even Gai's taijutsu he went full on SSJ. You weren't going to get anything good that deep into the war arc, heck one of the only decent pure but short battles was Kakashi vs Obito, both sharingan users.

I think the point stands regardless. Sasuke might have brought good fights to the table, but I do see the point that the Uchiha focus kinda ****ed up the series' plot in a way.

Take away Sasuke and this series is a literal snoozefest. Sasuke literally carried this show throughout part 2. That's my point, since the person I quoted was talking about entertainment and fights, not plot.

Ah, true. The original post did refer to plot however.

And keep in mind that Uchiha focus is not Sasuke focus. Sasuke was the deuteragonist since day one, he was bound to get that focus. The Uchiha focus complaint is normally associated more so with the clan itself and the later additions to it rather than Sasuke.

But none of us know what the hypothetical Naruto series would be without Sasuke. That's manga panel time that could've been given to the likes of the Hyuuga, Uzumaki, establishing other villages better, Naruto's maturity, making sense of the Ootsutsuki and god knows what else. It was an editor who suggested Sasuke as a rival figure right?

I would've liked to have seen other characters given the 'Shikamaru treatment' when he was given his own arc and constant development in line with the protagonists. We'll never know what could've been because Kishi was so insistent on proud sociopathic Uchiha villains.

The story we have? Yeah, Sasuke is integral and a good chunk of the series but I never understand when people say he's the single most important character and without him there's no Naruto manga. It'd just find another focus than brotherhood- god knows it could get onto the messiah theme a couple hundred arcs earlier.
