I made a thread exposing the truth on "People rather watch Sasuke over Naruto" right before it shortly got deleted which I don't want to name any who because I don't want to risk of getting my thread deleted again just because some certain fans can't take the truth!

Things to recap:
- Had fillers around Naruto yet most people didn't care even Naruto Fans. Most people distaste fillers anything that doesn't revolve around Sasuke
- Despite Naruto the Last Movie has romance, people didn't seem to appreciate the actions between Naruto vs Toneri and countless battles that Naruto had encountered.
- Yet Boruto Movie received better rating because of Sasuke moments with Boruto and his role against the final antagonist.
- Movies tends to received alots of criticism without any regard of Sasuke.

Now this brings to my next point of this thread. My intention is to serve some educational purposes and I am going to explain on why Naruto as a Character climax too early after Pain Arc ended.

Remember Naruto had the most messed up childhood where it is used to be a thing to Root for Naruto over any characters he fought against someone like Neji, Gaara, Sasuke and Pain??? Well he went from being the most sympathize and underdog to being the most unrealistic, bland and hypocritical main protagonist.
Here is why that's the case:

Naruto was resented by everyone in the village. Naruto main goal was to be acknowledge by everyone in the leaf village and become Hokage. Once he becomes the Hero to stop Pain, Naruto story feel like it ended because he no longer has any flaws, he becomes the Mary sue. This is where he should've become the Hokage.

However as the series progress, it becomes clear and his resolve for peace once the War arc started. His ideology for peace is retarded, he talks a lot, but very rarely ever backs it up.
Naruto is way too predictable, corney and his childish attitude was annoying especially with forgivness and calling the terrorist the coolest guy. people got sick and tired after knowing that Naruto will receive handful power-ups after being overwank by countless of side characters who are nothing but a pebble stone for the "Prophecy".

Sasuke is one of the most realist guy ever, his story are far more dynamic so you know people would root him over Naruto.

I think that you're selling Naruto's character development post-Pain Arc a little short. While the Pain Arc may have ended one of Naruto's major character arcs, I wouldn't say that it completed his character. The arc already made it clear that the entire village was behind Naruto at that point, and no one was willing to sell him out. He was already acknowledged by them. While he wasn't as huge of a "Hero" (on the level of Minato and Jiraiya), Naruto's previous life of heroism had won him a ton of respect.

Plus, Naruto still had a ton of insecurity about himself. He had yet to come to terms with himself and reconcile his previous resentment and distrust of the villagers with his current self. He had won over the villagers' respect, but they had yet to fully win his, at least in his subconscious mind. This struggle was embodied in Naruto's struggle to control Kurama's influence over himself and win over Kurama's friendship, and was wrapped up at the start of the War Arc (after Naruto comes to terms with his past, having met both of his parents and learning that they always loved and believed in him).

However, this is where Naruto truly begins his role as a "Hero", having matured and overcome his major inner obstacles. His main faults in the War Arc came from his struggle to balance his new responsibilities with the realities of war. Before he could enter the battlefield, he had to prove to the Raikage that he was worthy of being trusted with the fate of the world. He learned from Itachi that he was wrong to try to shoulder everything on his own, and that he had to trust in the power of his friends. Against Obito, Naruto learns to cope with his inability to protect all of his comrades, even if he swears by his promise to protect them. Naruto develops a strong relationship with the Bijuu, earning their respect. Repeatedly, Naruto's resolve, and his faith in his convictions, is tested against a reality where living up to them seems impossible, but he is able to stand firm (thanks to his own power, but also due to the power of "cooperation", which comes into play later).

And of course, before any of these inter-War Arc struggles began, Naruto still had that little objective of somehow defeating Sasuke while also changing Sasuke's misguided ideology. This arc moves parallel to Sasuke's own arc; every time that Sasuke becomes stronger, or becomes more resolute in his convictions, Naruto's struggle against Sasuke becomes more difficult. Even if Naruto received a lot of character resolution after the Pain Arc, Sasuke's story had really just started after learning the truth about Itachi.

Also, Naruto's "Ninja Jesus" qualities may make him seem a Mary Sue to some, but it's important to remember that the story was always largely about overcoming the hopelessness and violence in the Shinobi world. Ever since Zabuza, almost every villain or rival in Naruto's path had some traumatic, unfortunate past that shaped their future ideals. Battles in this series were always a battle of ideals, with Naruto generally empathizing with the villain and using that connection to reach his enemies. It makes sense that, after establishing a world so plagued by wars born of hatred, Naruto's empathy (and his will to never give up) would make him a key figure in breaking that cycle.

Further, ending the "cycle of hatred" ties in with some of Naruto's other arcs with Sasuke, Kurama, and his own past. Sasuke's arc, which also relates to the "cylce of hatred", is the ideological counterpart to this arc, so Naruto couldn't really resolve this until Sasuke had a chance to develop his own ideals after his meetings with Danzou, Itachi, and Hashirama. While this battle of "love vs hatred" was driven a bit too far by the Indra/Ashura storyline, that just builds on some of the more "epic" lore of the Narutoverse (in a way that dubbing Naruto the "Child of Prophecy" really doesn't).

Finally, a lot of Naruto's purpose in the War Arc is actually to help other characters overcome inner struggles, leading by example. Kakashi overcame his own past demons largely by watching Naruto's actions. Obito overcame his despair, rediscovered his old will to protect others, and died a heroic death, thanks to Naruto. In VotE2, Sasuke was often the POV character, particularly towards the end, because he was the one who needed to develop.

I'm sure that there's more I could say. However, my point is that Naruto still had a lot of development to do post-Pain arc. I actually liked that he gained a broader endgame objective. Seeing Naruto with a bigger stake in his world, particularly as we were introduced to other villages leading up to the War Arc, was very refreshing. In my opinion, Naruto was at his lamest in early Shippuden, when he was made a fool of constantly due to his powerlessness and seemed to be focused solely on the unreasonable goal of "saving" Sasuke. It was nice to see Naruto gain more perspective and really come into his own after the Pain Arc.

Why you writing an entire novel ? No one has time to read that

I had thoughts on the issue. I consider Naruto's character to be more complex than many fans give him credit for, particularly during the War Arc. I've wanted to share this for a while, and a thread presented itself.

I speak for the fact when analzing the amount of people through the forums, polls, ratings, sales, popularity, the views on fillers through the internet anything about Sasuke speaks volume. Sasuke is more popular than Naruto and that's guranteed fact.

Naruto and Sasuke are like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The snack just seems empty without one or the other.
