Did Itach&Kakashi know each other?

Idk if any1 seen the filler arc Kakashi Anbu(ep350s.) Several times it shows Kakshi with Itachi conversing as if they started to become friends and were on the same team. What I'm asking is their relationship here apply as cannon to the ppl of Narutoverse? lol

If their was a real(cannon) relationship between them, then it would have been cool if throughout the series Kishi put some scenes/flashbacks of Kakashi wondering why Itachi Slaughtered his clan. Cuz until we found out why Itachi did what he did, I never actually wondered why Itachi killed his clan. I just thought he was a cold killer.

I'd say yes, but due to the strict rules of cannon no. In the canon i'd say they did but only through working with each other and by reputation. I.E very loosely.

Hi hun, and yes they did know each other. Itachi had to help kakashi out often and save him and practically put the whole village on his back

It's implied that they did, whether they ever got as close as the fillers make it seem though idk

That would of been a good addition to character development and interaction between Kaka and Sauce if Kakashi had a stronger relation to Itachi.

Because really Kaka and Sauce had no moments besides chuunin exam training and seals, etc.

Itachi was Kakashi's boss in teh anbu. Kakashi had to clean Itachi's sword, sharpen his kunai and make sure Itachi's boots were shiny. To ensure Kakashi did his duties properly, Itachi would punish him via genjutsu torture when he messed up.This is part of teh reason why Kakashi got PTSD when he met Itachi years later, when Itachi fodderized him.
