Then he couldn't even prevent the one lady from exploding. And he had lots of time to Ameno her or simply use his lightning speed to throw her far away from everyone. He had a million options to be honest.

And then he lets the old man run into the house fire and die!

At least Naruto prevented the three Konoha Shinobi from dying. Much more useful than Sasuke's useful self...
