It should be so. By all rights Gohan surpassed Goku back during the Cell games. Even though he got soft from all the normal living it's about time for him to take the reigns as hero. If it's true, it will be sad to see Goku go, but as many times as he has died and been revived its kind of a bitter sweet deal.
