To many people the idea of a black American president was little more than a dream. MANY has grave doubts as to whether Obama could win the white votes needed to take the White House. Those doubts were now answered obviously but does Obama’s win herald a new era of racial equality or is there a long way to go yet?

Especially when a man like Donlad Trump wins after Obama 2 terms?

I agree to an extent.

People should be socially conscious about the diversity of leadership, mostly for moral reasons ( people of color aren't monolithic). It does a great service just to compute that they to have a chance of holding down a prestigious leadership role in a diverse atmosphere.

No. Obama had to have a record equivalent to that of a superhero to get in office. Ppl slandered him constantly for smoking weed once in college , and he only got in because Blacks came out in mass.

The same number of Black Children are as poor as in the 1960 war on poverty 15% then 15% now in 2016 So He has not inspired Minorities to succeed the numbers say so.
