Give intel. Tobirama loses if he doesn't have any

Edit: nvm going by title Gai starts in 7th Gate, Gai wins no doubt.

Tobirama wins.. No intel is more dangerous to gai than tobirama and even with intel tobirama wins. Gai can only win if he is given unlimited 7th gate.

Without inte he won't know to set up markings to let him dodge Gai's. There's practically nothing he can do about Hirudora unless he knows to set up markings around the area. It's not something he normally does like Minato.

that i assumed is basic battle strategy for ftg users and i usually allow pre marked locations since not allowing it is handicap there n then and i doubt gai can one shot him before he can throw a kunai away seeing charging gai.

Lol I forgot about Intel. I guess I'll say none just because.

It's not, because there's only 2 FTG users and only one of them does that. Tobirama didn't do anything of the sort against Juubito, he just opted for tagging and stage 2 Hiriashin. Without intel he's not going to be spreading marks around

Allowing it is actually a handicap against whoever they're fighting against. It's the definition of prep since they couldn't have done it without setting it up before the battle.

He doesn't need to set markings up around the area to dodge Hirudora. He's fast enough to simply toss a Kunai away from the area while Hirudora is coming at him to evade it. Gai can't kill Tobirama before he uses Hiraishin to evade his attacks and to do that he'll need to throw a marking. So eventually markings get placed and then Tobirama learns more about Gai's speed and then lays more markings and uses clones to try and take him out.

And not even Minato spreads Kunai around as a normal strategy. He only did it once against Ay due to his knowledge on Ay's speed. Against Obito, in the War Arc are his other 2 fights and he never spread markings like that.

Without intel Tobirama won't know the mechanics of Hirudora or what it will do. There's no way he's escaping without some type of special set up, I can't post scans because I'm on a phone but the turtle island explosion was much to large for that tactic. Especially if Gai starts off with an initial blitz like he did against Madara, which Tobirama can't evade but can react to.

Which is why intel is such a big deal here

With intel he can start off with bunshin reducing Gai's chance of hitting the real Tobirama, and spread Kunai before Gai attacks. Leaving Gai with few options since he can't do Hirudora more than maybe twice, three max, and he's caput. Not having to worry being able to escape lets him play offensively to, or use bait and switch tactics.

For me this basically comes down to wether Tobirama knows the capabilities of a Gates user. If he does he wins, if not he loses.

*Edit: Minato did spread Kunai during the War arc, just not blantantly and excessively. He put them randomly in the ocean, threw 4 for the Kage, and three others here and there.

He doesn't need to know the mechanics. It's a projectile. If he dodges it's initial path it'll soar past him and explode elsewhere unless Gai purposely shoots it at the ground, but if he does that he'll catch himself in the blast range of his own attack and it'll basically be a double KO. Sure, Gai can do an initial blitz, but Tobirama can physically react to someone much faster than him so before Gai reaches him he'll be able to toss a Kunai and escape.

So I think it's easier for him with intel, but without intel he can still take it.

Pretty much what KG said. Tobirama physically reacted to jubito's shunshin. Gai is at best as fast as Ay v2. Minato reacted to him by tossing a kunai and tobirama has equal if not better reactions. He can toss aside a kunai and gai might get tagged in the process as well. Tobirama might take a deliberate hit to tag him and then it's all over.

Tobirama didn't do so well against Juubito when the latter tried to blitz him, sure he tagged him but that would have been after he technically died. Tobirama can't take a hit here like he did against Juubito, which is why it's game over if Gai gets close to him and he doesn't have something already set up. He can't toss a Kunai away in the middle of getting pummeled either, and he wouldn't be able to take more than a few of Gai's normal punches either most likely

If he tries to toss a Kunai away Gai can aim at the Kunai too since he's not going to be able to toss one in time if Gai fires it at close range. Even if Tobirama isn't getting pummeled.

This entire post is wrong. Tobirama only reacted because he was an Edo, if he was alive he would have died. Gai in 7th Gate is much faster than V2 Ay since he can pressure JJ Madara. Tobirama's reactions are considered better than KCM Minatos, there isn't a comparison between him and base Minato in reactions (someone who can barely react to V2 Ay). If he takes a deliberate hit then he gets combo'd into Hirudora and dies

The half along with the arm that tagged Tobirama was blown off by Obito's attack, meaning he clearly tagged him before he got hit. Against someone of Obito's speed he can only tag them and take a hit right after, but Gai's actual movement speed is nowhere near Obito's speed so it doesn't really matter here. So he'd easily be able to avoid an initial blitz by tossing a Kunai out of the way and warping w/ Hiraishin.

If Gai tries to attack in close range he only makes it easier to evade. The closer he is the shorter the distance Tobirama has to throw his Kunai away as Hirudora will simply soar past him after dodging. But again, he can physically react to and tag Juubito before Juubito can rip him apart, so he'd toss Kunai long before Gai actually arrived at his position so none of that really matters anyway.

And Gai only pressured JJ Madara because of his striking speed, not movement speed.

Well i don't believe gai in 7th gate is faster than v2 Ay. Against madara it was gai's striking speed that mattered not shunshin or foot speed. Madara blocked or evaded all of gai's punches too. If you think he is faster than v2 Ay then our discussion comes to an end here. Coz that leaves nothing to discuss at all. Cheers.
