I'm interested in your opinion tbh, personally the bm is what killed it for me(and to an extent the sm), and the fodderizing. His personality seemed fine

He ruined Itachi by turning him into a potentially interesting and mysterious character to a overrated bland nigh-gary stu type.

So his power ups? ....... they all made sense to me, he saved the alliance twice as far as his personality goes with him trying to bond wth Naruto and saving the world was a struggle but his character needed to do both, so understandable to me. As for his power his was hype as one of the strongest before he died so to me his hype was proven unlike Hiruzen lol

Yea it just seemed like the powers where introduced so naruto had the other kyuubi half when he needed it.

Pretty much, this and aside from the tbb there was nothing he did that he couldn't do without the kyuubi(iirc) plus as I mentioned above it seemed like one big plot device

But the whole point of Gaara and Neji was that they'd be changed. Gaara was still badass after being changed, and so was Neji for that fact.
