Naruto Returns
~ Narrator: As Jiraiya closed the door behind him, Shikamaru whispered into the Hokage`s ear:
Shikamaru: *Whispers* “Do you think he liked my present?”
Hokage: Yeah of course he did! Didn't you see the smile on his face?
Narrator: He said with a confident voice as he placed his hand on Shikamaru`s shoulder.
Shikamaru: Yeah I guess.
Hokage: Beside, he will need it to complete my present.
Shikamaru: What do you mean?
Hokage: Well I`m not planning on giving my son a present, it`s more like I`m going to teach him something.
Shikamaru: I see. So you`re planning on teaching him “that jutsu”?
Hokage: Yeah...
Shikamaru: It is strange how fast time goes by. It`s not that long ago since he became a Chunin.
Four years ago is it not?
Hokage: Yes indeed.
Shikamaru: So you think it was the right thing to do? I mean, it `s only four years ago since he became a Chunin. Don`t you think that it was a little too early promoting him to Jounin three weeks before he turned twelve?
Hokage: He passed the Jounin exam and showed excellent skills on his own and as a team mate. Even if I`m his father, I`m still sure that it was the right thing to do. Even Gaara agreed. Beside, Kakashi became a Jounin at only a year older. Remember?
Shikamaru: After he turned 13? Yeah I know..
Hokage: And if you remember Itachi? He became an Anbu captain at the same age. So Jiraiya was only one year younger.
Shikamaru: You`re probably right. But do you think that he`s ready for that technique?
Hokage: I guess we will find out later this day.
Shikamaru: To think that he has progressed this far already. I can see that he truly are your son.
Hokage: Well, if it hadn't been for Kakashi and Gai, he wouldn't have got the training he needed.
Shikamaru: Yeah probably.
Narrator: With that said, the scene fades away and a new one fades in.
Author`s note: We`re now back to three and a half year after current manga time (1 and a half year after last flashback).
Tsunade: Thank you for responding so fast to my call, I have some things I want to discuss with you all.
I know it`s early in the morning, but you will have to deal with it.
Shikamaru: It`s troublesome to respond to your call this early in the day, but I guess I`ll manage.
Rock Lee: Nothing great like getting up early in the mourning!
Shino: The fact that she called us this early must mean that it`s important.
Tsunade: Exactly. I've heard news that a certain man is returning to the village today.
Neji: Oh?
Tsunade: As you know, Naruto and his wife left the village 1 and a half year ago.
Shikamaru: He wanted to follow up on some clues about Sasuke besides following Jiraiya`s footstep of exploring the world?
Tsunade: That`s correct.
Rock Lee: So he`s indeed coming back?
Tsunade: Yeah.
Shino: Since you called us this early to inform us about Naruto returning, I`m guessing that there is something more to it?
Tsunade: Not really, I just wanted some of his friends to be here when he arrives.
Neji: Is that it?!
Shikamaru: You can`t be serious? I know we haven`t seen him in a while, but couldn't it have waited until the sun got up at least?
Narrator: You could see on Shikamaru, Neji and Shino's faces that they were upset, while you could see a burning flame in Rock Lee`s eyes.
Tsunade: It`s not every day that a Shinobi of our village returns. Bear with it!
Rock Lee: Alright!
Shino: Yeah you`re right.
Shikamaru: So any idea when he will arrive?
?: It should be very soon.
Neji: Gai sensei...
Narrator: Suddenly Gai entered into the Hokage office through the door.
Gai: I've talked to Kakashi, and he told me that he got a bird from Naruto telling him that he and his wife would arrive to the village this very day.
?: In about 2 hours to be precise.
Shikamaru: Ehm... Why can`t you just enter through the door like Gai?
Kakashi: I wouldn't be this cool if I did that now would I?
Narrator: They all turned their heads downwards in an embarrassed tone, except for Lee and Gai.
Gai and Lee: That`s the spirit!
Tsunade: Anyway, he should arrive shortly. What`s the latest reports Kakashi, Gai?
Gai: Ehm, why don`t you inform us Kakashi?
Kakashi: Well, I`m not really sure. He should be here soon.
Tsunade: So what did his letter say?
Narrator: As Tsunade spoke, something disturbed the air and a character slightly developed behind her chair.
?: Nothing special.
Narrator: Everyone was shocked at hearing a voice coming from behind the Hokage`s chair. Tsunade turned slowly and asked:
Tsunade: “So you`re back?”
Narrator: The air settled and a man sitting down leaning against the back of the chair with his left arm resting on his left knee that was slightly angled up from the ground, blond spiky hair and a long white, black and red cape appeared.
Shikamaru: It can`t be!
Naruto: Yes it`s me.
Kakashi: Nice to see you again.
Shino: How long have you been there? Not even my bugs noticed you.
Naruto: Ever since Gai entered.
Rock Lee: Awesome!
Neji: So this is the Flying Thunder God technique at its best?
Naruto: Nah... I still got some room to improve. Any shinobi with sensor ability would easily have sensed me sitting here.
Shikamaru: Show off.
Gai: Hehe, the spirit of youth!
Rock Lee: We`re not that young Gai Sensei...
Gai: Uhu...
Narrator: He said with a humiliated expression on his face.
Tsunade: So what brings you back to the village so soon?
Naruto: I won`t really call it soon, but anyway. I had to return.
Shikamaru: Oh?
Naruto: My wife got pregnant a month ago and i want her to give birth in Konoha where it`s safe.
Everyone: Really?!
Naruto: Yeah.
Kakashi: I guess congratulations are at order.
Naruto: Thanks, but let`s wait until the day of birth come, shall we?
Gai: So when will she give birth?
Naruto: In October, around my 20th Birthday.
Gai: I see.
Rock Lee: Around the same time as my wife gives birth! Meaning, they will be at the same age!
Naruto: Oh, i didn't know Sakura was pregnant too?! I`ll have to talk with you more about that later.
Rock Lee: Sure thing.
Naruto: Anyway. Tsunade, do you have any important updates since I left?
Tsunade: Yeah, we have done some changes. But why don`t you tell us a little about your journey first?
Naruto: Yeah I guess I may do that. I haven`t discovered anything new about Madara, Zetsu and Kabuto, but I've found some Intel on Sasuke.
Tsunade: Really...
Narrator: The scene fades out once again, and the image jumps back to real time.
(*continued*) As the Hokage and Shikamaru were talking about Jiraiya, the door went open and Sai entered.
Sai: Hokage Sama!!! Urgent report! Two unknown Akatsuki members have been sighted heading towards the west gate of Konoha! They've already taken down several Anbus!
Hokage: What?!
