None of the Yonko are the type to fight among each other either, but the Pongelyphs are incentive enough for them to try and steal them from each other.

Big Mom yelled at Tomago for suggesting that she compromise with the Strawhat Pirates, and then she compromised with Sanji.

The point of the matter is, yes, even Kaido would compromise if it's something as valuable as a Poneglyph.

I am not sure whether yonkos know about the abilities of each other in detail. We are unsure what Shanks is capable of, only that his power is immense. Imagine that Shanks is on your boat, trying to haggle entry into Marineford and you don´t want to.

Now, as seen with Whitebeard, he is capable of inflicting physical damage to inanimate objects (and mind you, this was only "a bit of a threat". Furthermore, he would be capable of knocking out all the 100.000 fishermen, according to Oda):

If someone threatens you that your entire ship and crew will sink if you don´t get out of the way and you are unsure whether he is bluffing, it is not easy to decide.

Also, I like the theory about poneglyphs as a bargaining tool in this case.

Yes they are army of fodders who were casually defeated by Minks and Sanji. After Sheepshed was defeated they left Zou.

We have Kaido on his own ship,Jack on his own ship and the other 2 Calamities on their respective ships. How will Shanks manage to stop all them lol. And since its implied Kaido's crew are DF users they would all just sink in the water and die is that what you're saying happened?

Pretty sure Kaido was going to Marineford alone as part of his Suicide attempt and Shanks and his entire Crew intercepted him.
