Well no and yes, initially the story was about how a failure could be better than anyone else with hardwork but naruto has many things even before being revealed him as a ashura transmigrant that guaranteed him being a success even before birth. Being an ashura transmigrant didn't completely undermine the key theme of the series and was it's cool in its own theme overall I'm personally happy with it.


Even though rock lee makes more sense as the protagonist of this series.

The difference is tho is that if Naruto didn't control kurama it will take him over and he'll die
Sasuke on the other hand would just get stronger like awakening the sharingan awakening the third tomoe sharingan against naruto,awakening the ms,and each time he'd get angry during the kage summit and fighting danzo his susano'o got bigger
