Why Neji should not have been used as a human shield

1 - he was actually one of the few promissing characters that the Naruto manga had (in Naruto, if you don't have a sharingan, rikudou chakra, rinnegan or a demon inside you, you're not good enough)

2 - he could've made a better use of Hamura chakra than Hinata ever did and ever will. He was a prodigy, with Hamura chakra he could arguably have been somewhere close to Nardo and Sauce's tier

3 - at 16, he displayed feats as good as the strongest Hyuga we ever seen, Hiashi.

4 - we may have lost the only chance we had of seeing Byakugan's full potential being achieved

5 - his death was pretty much in vain. Honestly, he was sacrificed in order to keep a close-to-irrelevant side character alive. Hinata should have been wiped off of the face of the earth instead of him. (Naruto could've been paired with any other random girl, that's not an excuse)

Nah, Sakura is without a doubt the perfect candidate. She wouldn't be missed. In fact, the masses would most probably celebrate it. She is a failed Main Character after all.

Agree neji death was unneeded, but I don't think it was pointless since it was established in part 1 the only way a hyuga can break free is death and his death might have future relevance to plot.

In terms of potential he had as much as Naruto and Sasuke but Kishi realized how OP Juuken is and decided to save Hamura's chakra for someone with almost useless talent, Neji's death was basically a Hyuga nerf.

Byakugan's power has been heavily underrated in the entire manga....Kishi was so busy sucking up to Uchiha and the Sharingan that he actually sidelined what actually was the most dangerous ability in the entire manga.....Byakugan if used to its full potential(not counting tenseigan) is an ultimate tool much better than Sharingan......since you can see the opponents chakra pathways, identify chakra type and have a 360 degree vision all in all it ensures you will be never caught by surprise when you have the byakugan active, you can know what type of elemental ninjutsu the opponent may be using....and if you catch your opponent unawares you can actually end the battle in one strike. No one in manga ie no hyuga came close to utilizing Byakugan to its full potential...Neji barely scratched the surface...combine Byakugan and Jyuken attacks with elements and they become far more dangerous...imagine a jyuken strike in conjunction with lightening chakra
