God can lose to other God too. We are talking about Gods and not God.
Example: Greeks Gods
Despite the fact that Sasuke and Naruto were both in the same condition (Near death, battered in blood and bruises, and had severed an arm), Kishimoto knew that if he didn't let Naruto win one fight out of all the fights he lost, Naruto fanboys would have got pissed and would had thrown a hissy fit like NaruSaku fanboys.
So, Kishimoto made Sasuke say he lost despite the fight really being a physical tie between the two.
Good explanation of "Gods and not Go"d because even as a god is good, all gods maybe equally good or even greater. The god in Naruto was greater compared to the good god Sasuke. And oh such a good example of Greek gods.

Sasuke was never considered a "God" in the series. Neither was Naruto. Also if you read the fight you will notice that they were in the same physical condition at the end of the fight. Thus the Physical fight was a tie.

When Sasuke stated he "Lost" he was referring to the battle of Ideals, basically accepting Naruto's plan for peace and ditching the one he set in motion before the start of the fight.
But don't take the fight too seriously, it was a plot based fight just to finish off the series. Without the restriction of Plot the physical fight would have been much different.
i-------------->.
to those who keep saying sasuke is a god :
if sasuke is a god then why did he admit his defeat to Naruto???!!
gods never lose ..so?????????
