Seems like I remember reading that its supposed to air sometime beginning of next year. But doesnt give the manga much time to get ahead.

You probably saw the OVA info. Anime specials for this year's Jump Festa, in December I think.

It just seems like he might as well get started on the actual story that the anime will be based off of.
