It shows black people in power (Raikages), interracial marriage, it has themes of racism and the dangers of segregation and alienating people based on things they have no control over like lineage or having a demon in you.

Idk but DBZ kinda just has black face n shit.

One Piece also has black face.

Idk about Bleach, I just know the ending was retarded af.

Most anime just seems to have asian characters that look white af with peach toned skin, large eyes, pointed noses, and thin lips.

Yes; pedophilia is also accepted in Naruto (which will be the next trend among liberals).

wtf where?

Sure, I guess. I think it was just a story he wanted to tell and he didn't worry about any of those things.

One piece has cross-dressers, human trafficking and slaves

I would say the black characters like ay and bee are kinda stereotypical but kishi made them cool as hell and powerful so it's okay.

Also 8 Gates Gai is black too so.

One Piece is the most progressive mainstream. If you don't like the art style, you miss a lot of the issues present.
Fighting againts Racism, fighting slavery, fighting government, fighting royalty, breaking gender roles and gender itself, accepting emotions which is really important for males. Ex. It's okay to cry.

DBZ is not progressive.

Naruto is only progressive in the male on male emotion ties. Black representation is just tokenism in the manga. If you even believe they are black.

How is one piece progressive if it has black face?

So you aren't going to answer the question? You are only going to redirect it so you don't have to think for yourself. You are judging one piece so you should have a certain amount of knowledge about it, right? Or are you cherry picking so you can live in your bubble.

You are misunderstanding black face. Did the character you are showing display southern post civil war African American stereotypes? Or is it just a character with big lips that has dark skin? Is it a white man who puts on black ink and overdoing his lips with pink lipstick to intentionally and horribly trying to pass as African? it's a yes or no wuestion so you can reply now with your own answer.

I already answered why OP is progressive. Get past the art style because it is just an art style.

So answer my question to add on to the discussion.

I think that RWBY is better. There are faunus who are fighting for better life and you can clearly see people with xenophobia. Creator of it(Who is no longer between us) even planned pairings between two girls or guys. Just because America is behind apes in social freedom does not mean that rest of the world will kill you because you hate Jesus. Not to say that here is Slovakia is so much better. What with war and many people running from their home and here we accept only 3 or so.

So this is just about the big 3 well not suprised that much. Their has been many progressive mangas even among shounen manga you have to know where to look that and what exactly you mean when saying progressive. Because the east and west form of progressing is two entire different things from each other.

Give me an explaination on how that impedes the overall message of one piece?

I think he is referring to the point that for some strange reason dark skinned characters in the manga slowly became light skinned.

Usually one gets more and more tanned while traveling that much, but in OP- nope.

After seeing the representation of 'love stories' and treatment of Kishi's females it's hard to call Naruto progressive.

There is prejudice & civil war themes but it's between clans of the same skin/nation, not anything like that. It was a universal story about hate and it chose to give this to us through a bromance. It was good, but progressive isn't the word.

..I'm actually going to go with Magi as my suggestion. (When it isn't doing comedy fanservice anyway) The main characters get a lot of respect.

Darui, Tsunade & Chiyo are angels though.

It's a comedic depiction of a black person with exaggerated features like mr popo or old Jim Crow cartoons, the below picture is the censored American version.

Considering how many "gender neutral" looking characters in other mangas I'd say no... not in the slightest.

I thought the pic was the edit that 4kids did to the original. I agree that I kinda got bummed when robin became white skinned.

I like the idea of showing time with tanning skin but that has to be too nit picky to be taken serious.

You left out where it impedes the progressiveness. Tell me how that character, a one panel character destroys one piece themes.
