How did he treat indra like crap? if anything he probably like indra for being a prodigy, its not ashuras fault it took him awhile to awaken his own powers. He liked asuras's ideals better because indra was a hate driven psychopath thats suicide giving him the reigns to ninshu his decision was the best one for the time

Hagoromo backed Ashura ideology because it fit with his own sensibilities about how things should be done. The story made it pretty clear that Indra wanted the exact same thing Ashura did, only he believed he could accomplish it alone. That doesn't make Indra a psycho.

taking a look at your logic, it really doesn't. Not when the same characterization can be made about virtually any character in the story, be it an antagonist or protagonist.

just because it can be made multiple times doesnt make it less valid, indra was way more into ruling and looking down on others compared to now when they don't try to rule people they just want their resources or land and take it by force

But seriously Im not but indra and sasuke didnt want to take people over for resources and stuff they just wanted to rule over people with power or scare them into needing to work together instead of getting to the real issue and making them get along. In real life obviously that would never work buts its supposed to be happy ending shonen

you're definitely making stuff up now, because it was never specified exactly how Indra planned to force peace on everyone.

But I do think Ashura's way is better.

Regardless, I enjoyed it. People enoyed the anime Naruto vs sasuke vote fight but that too was 90% filler. Pick your battles.
