Was Sasuke vs Deidara really an asspull?

When was it not. Orochimaru is sealed in that curse mark. For sasuke to actually use its power/chakra the curse mark has to be active.

The Sharingan aside, Sasuke was completely out of chakra. There was absolutely no way he could have summoned Manda and place him under a genjutsu in Sasuke's condition.

He could do it because Sasuke has far superior Chakra control.

Retcons are usually a problem in this manga. Sasuke keeps Oro in check with his own chakra so when he pushes to make more and hes depleted then Oro can come out.

But you right though he wasnt as worn out against Deidara but if hes stated to be out of chakra then yes its an asspull. But only if he confirmed his reserves on his own. I think I believe him deactivated Sharingan to preserve chakra in the fight a little.

I think it was'nt asspull, cuz him summonung manda happened offscreen, so I'm pretty sure he'll try anything to save himself (meaning using curse mode chakra), against oro, sasuke was so eager to win, that he released oro entirely (cuz he knew he can't beat itachi with little curse mark chakra) and he already used CM chakra earlier on, so he might have been at his limit with CM chakra

Him finding the chakra to summon manda isn't even the ass pull part.

The ass pull comes from him actually summoning him, reactivating his sharingan, Casting genjutsu on him and jumping in his mouth in time to save himself from the blast, Even though he was so close to deidara when the explosion went off

As for the Sharingan, the only hard facts we have on how far Sasuke can predict attacks is Naruto vs Sasuke in part 1. Sasuke was able to see Naruto's attacks with just enough time to react to them and that was only because of how much Naruto was projecting his attacks. Keep in mind that when Naruto was cloaked in the Kyuubi chakra Sasuke could not see Kurama's attacks - thus (essentially) an Atomic Bomb going off 5 feet away would absolutely be faster than Sasuke's Sharingan.

WRONG! Deidara said sasuke was out chakra. That never came from Sasuke mouth Deidara made an assumption and it was wrong. Dont believve go back and reread that chapter

exactly. i think we can safely scratch him being out of chakra as perpetuated nonsense that has no basis in the manga. anyone saying that is simply making a self made assertion
