[Discussion] Does Luffy's 4th Gear strength rivals Kaido?

Did Oda just give a hint that Luffy's strength in 4th Gear already rivals Kaido. I only ask because after the last chapter that Luffy executed an attack that directly paralleled Kaido in Ch.824

Is this Oda possibly hinting that in terms of Gear 4th strength Luffy may be able to match (not necessarily defeat) Kaido. Or do you think this is simply coincidence?


I am not saying that Luffy has superior or equal Defense or Speed.. Im ONLY asking what is your opinion in the strength gap between the two.

Not necessarily talking about tank form, I was just asking do you think Gear 4th's strength overall was enough to possibly rival Kaido. Just on the basis of strength, nothing else

Not even close at all. A beaten Doflaimingo took 4 hits from a bloodlusted G4 Luffy.

A bloodlusted Kaido would end a healthy Doflamingo with one hit.

The real test will start with Big Mom. In order to face Kaidou, Luffy needs to defeat Big Mom with something more powerful than G4. Perhaps some people bet on the GOMU awakening to defeat a Yonkou. Maybe Luffy's awakening is size increase makes him in the same state of a giant, so there won't be any G5.
