I don't read history books, but as far as I know about Umar Ibn Al-Khattab is that he was a hot tempered person before and after Islam, so define "jihadists". I dunno about you, but it seems like the only thing non-Muslims know about this word means suicide, because it isn't the same idea for Umar.

But in any case, why do you think only PhD holders can have relevant opinions regarding Religion? I feel anyone who has experienced or read much on religion should have much to say about the topic, but that's just me..
